Doe's anyone know if there is going to be a 4 1/2 inch lift +
coming to australia and if so, when.

Hi Jenko,

Jeepin Al has a lift kit that would give you that rise (4" and 6" kits). The link is:

and keep in mind that you might need to buy Als shaved CV axles as well to prevent destruction of the stock CVs.

You could also give CRDSTU a ring in Brissy, his kits seem to be able to go near that height.

Whether this would be street legal in Australia - I have no idea. In Jeepin By AL's case - you would probably have to import this yourself and then find someone willing to do the install. I have heard (via the forums) that the main chains (ie ARB, TJM) in NSW are refusing to do anything above 50mm. The NPOC (new National Compliance regs) are going to allow lifts to 50mm only, what sort of engineering certification will be required in all states for vehicles going above that height is unclear ( as is the issue of insurance coverage).

IMHO I'd do a lot of research and get your state authority to state their position (in writing) , (and your insurance company) before sinking that sort of $ into a kit.

Jenko, my lift from STU and some original OME stuff from my 1st lift is now 4". Getting the lift enginerred wasn't the problem, it was the rims that casused me so much grief.

What are you using from your original OME lift and what from STU? Wish we could get those springs of his here a little cheaper, may have to bite the bullet so to speak and get all 4 :wink:

Also have you done anything to your CVs ( any problems)

the original stuff will be the struts and shocks, the springs and top spacer front, and rear poly spacers will be from stu

As Fros said,

UPFRONT the OME (old man emu) front struts and coils (HD) + STU's top strut spacer, + a 5mm clevis & no bull bar = 4"
REAR is all CRDSTU, coils (extra heavy duty) and shocks (extra long travel) = 4".

No problem with the CV's as I've not cut the uni body to allow for extra down travel. I'd say that's where most of the people with poop CV's get there problems. I don't plan to cut the side wall either, but in saying that... yes my upper control arm does contact the body & coils at full flex.

yes mate, however I've taken some of the weight out of the back now and the rear is a little higher.
