Make sure you have the A/C on as well. Even with the heat on, if you run the ac (middle button) it takes the moisture out of the air being pumped into the Jeep which will help reduce the fogging while it heats up your window. (or so it has been my experince)

I used to have this problem (other windows fogging up) in my Corolla until someone tipped me off on that.

With all respect, and I know you're just trying to help, but I reject the suggestion that it should be necessary to run the a/c. The issue isn't excessive moisture, it's that the warm air is not fully directed at the windows sufficiently. The car had been running for 2+ hours and the windows continued to freeze up. If there was sufficient air across the windshield and at the side windows there would not have been a problem. But no amount of adjustment solved the problem.

I appreciate how your suggestion might be useful during warmer weather, but there is very little moisture in the air in a prairie winter - far less moisture than a typical summer day, for example. I can't see how running the a/c is going to do little but further impact my gas mileage.

But even if it works and it's necessary to run the a/c simply to have visibility than this is a design flaw that borders on a safety issue. They might as well have reduced the size of the windshield by 30% and made the front side windows opaque.

The A/C will automatically turn on when you use defrost in newer vehicles nowdays. No need to turn on/off since it automatically turns on and takes some electrical skill to not have it turn on with defrost.

Shouldnt chrysler test all of their vehicles to see if stuff works? like the defogger??
I mean Im sure I probably will never EVER use it but man In the event Id need to use it it would be very unsafe to drive a car with a flaw design like this :S

Has anyone took their KK into the dealer for this? I'm sure they can't do anything about it, but I would like to know what load of BS they gave for it.

Yeah they told me the same thing that Chrysler replied to me. Sorry, maybe it'll be fixed in the next model.

Wasn't that the stock answer provided to Pinto owners in the 70s?

If Chrysler/Jeep/Libertys are around in 2012 when it's time for me to get a new vehicle I'll be sure and look for this to have been improved. :?
