like i said, I have not measured. How ever, I do hit the rail road tracks buy my work at 30 to 40 mph when most cars only do 10 mph or less on the front side and i just jump it going home at 50

What's up with this? I have talked and heard a lot about lifts and most people say what ever the lift is at first it is about 0.5" more than stated. The manufactures give make sure you get closer to what is stated after its settles.

But it sounds like the 4" JBA gets you a 3.5" lift.

I wonder what the 2.5" lift gets you? hopefully 2"? Does ANYONE have the 2.5" JBA lift??

The amount of lift advertized on all lifts is a average amount of lift you will get.All vehicles will naturally sit higher/lower then a exact same model due to different options, weights, and driving habits.

I know that a Rubicon Express 4.5" lift for a XJ will give you 5.5" of lift right out of the box and settle to 5",more then advertised. The RockKrawler 3.5" lift for a KJ will only gain you 2" at best and will settle to stock height soon after.

if i remember from my previous measurements, it looks like .25 lose in the end, how ever i took .5 off of the strut before the install. so that leaves .5 in top strut plate spaces and what ever you can get out of a clevis lift

Understood each lift will be slightly different in the settled amount but should be similar to others. As In the 4" JBA if one is settling below 4" around 3.5" then another one won't be up at 4.5" after it settles. Just like you stated the rubicon will be about 5" which is good to know and is more than the stated 4.5" lift.

Still looking for anyone who has the 2.5" JBA lift. ANYONE? Would like to hear the final settled amount on this lift.

Okay why would one have to add spacers and do a clevis lift to get the results that you paid for to get a 4" lift. Since you are the first tested lift maybe you need to report this to the manufacture so they can take your tests results and fix the issue. And by fixing the issue I hope they fit the parts to make a true 4" lift and a 2.5" lift. Although they could just start advertising their 4" as a 3.5" but we all don't want that I bet we all what a true 4" lift and a 2.5"

Wow guys, relax. No where has Nate posted any true measurements of before lift, right after lift, and now after break in settling, he only said "It looks like I lost X lift" or "I have a solid 3.5" lift over stock". Until I have exact measurements from the excat same areas that I measured from, he could have 5"+ and not even know it for sure. He is the guinea pig, of course things that need to be addressed are being passed on to perfect the kit. If you bought this kit already and didn't get a true 4" lift, then get your panties in a wad, but for now just sit back, relax, and be happy that atleast two well know companies that care specifically about the Liberty customers are atleast putting something of quality together. You could always get one of those unsafe budget kits and crash into a Mack truck because you hit a squirrel on the highway and your rear brakeline snapped. Marlin is putting a lot of time and money into putting these kits together when he knows they aren't going to be flying off the shelfs for a good while until more KK owners start really wheeling their rigs and saving their pennies. I am not making a dime on these kits and I have put a lot of my own personal time into installing, testing, altering, improving and reporting these issues and improvements to Marlin so he can develop the best kits on the market. So, please be patient and save the derogatory remarks for your Rockkrawler kits.

I forgot you have my stock measurements, what a sly person :D

any way E2, I took .5 off of the top of the strut plate because rock lizard was afraid that the extra .5 with no front bumper would blow up a cv, However after finishing the lift, the .5 would not be a problem at all. As far as the clevis lift, by adding .5 there, you could regain what you lost if a HD bumper is installed..

If you ever have a question, concern, or want to shoot the doo doo, just drop me a line, I promise i won't bite...hard

Don't sweat it. It takes time to get a product perfect before it goes to market. I wanted to give Nate time to break it in, do the normal everyday use, flex it out a little bit, then next time he came down I was going to compare measurements to see where it sits. You want a kit that advertises X amount of lift to give atleast X amount of lift in stock form the extra spaces help gain lift lost from adding aftermarket goodies. The strange thing with IFS setups, is Nate says he took out 1/2" of spacers (Two 1/4" spacers). Technically each 1/4" spacer adds 1/2" of lift. How that works, I don't know, but technically it does, just like a clevis lift.

I tried searching way back into this section of the forum so this topic wouldn't be redundant to you KK owners..couldn't find anything! Anyway I wanted to know if the rumors are true and the roof rails are in fact useless on the 08+'s?? ...hope not!!

only if you have a sky crapper

any way, the kk is some what better as it uses studs that come out from the roof in like the kj that uses bolts.

hopefully by the end of the month, the rock lizard roof rack will be complete

here you can see why

in red is the amount of clevis lift or spacers
in blue is the amount of lift you get

you get 2x the lift amount because of the lever effect of the A arms on the ifs

I knew that was it with the action of the A-Arms, but really didn't know how to explain where even I could understand it. As simple as those pictures are, they make perfect sense to me now. Awesome, thanks.

I agree with RL. Personally, I am glad RL and JBA are developing products for the KK. Whenever possible, I choose to "vote with my dollars" and once my KK arrives this spring, I'll spend money on products from RL or JBA, who have been long-time supporters of the Jeep Liberty market, before some other company that doesn't have the focus on, or broad support for, the Libertys. Just my proverbial two cents.

kk looks good digger, needs bigger tires though, looks way to small to go with that lift.
