I want to Line-X my cargo area, I was looking at the tie down points to remove them to get the carpet out and noticed that the tie downs are put in with rivits. Has anybody removed these to bed line there cargo area? I assume I will have to drill out the rivits and then bolt the tie downs back in when I am finished but I just want to confirm. Also does anybody have any pics of this project complete? I want to bed line the back of the seat also, has anybody done this also? Any help will do...

I took out one of the tie downs, just drill the rivets and take it out, you have to put it back because the holes can let water or anything else go in.

I know somebody posted pics of the carpet out of the back. If I recall, there are also some wire looming that ran under the carpet as well as the fuel access plate (RTVed on). I thought about doing it years ago, but you know how things go.

but yes to get the rivets out use a small drill bit or a dremmel. post pics if you do so we can get an idea.

later,
mike

Mike is right about the wires etc. I had my carpet out once and back in. I thought about line-x also. You would have to go around the gas tank access. I thought about using a very thin sheet of metal to cover the access point, line-x it and stick in place.

My fuel pump went so the stealership to pull out the tiedowns and then the carpet. Of course after the job was done they THEN found out they didn't have the rivets! Bottom line, leave access for the tank door / plate / whatever they call it.
