NEW YEARS DAY RUN JAN 01 2006

Will, I ran this trail last year with stock tires. I dont think you will have much of a problem. As for now the rains havent hit yet, but we still have a few days though. Hope you can make it out.

I'm afraid we're out as well. Our youngest baby had a febrile seizure this morning and it just wouldn't be prudent to be away from the family for the next couple of days.

We'll make some other upcoming runs instead.

Baby is fine now. Boy, did he give us a scare when it happened. Now that we know it's benign, next time it happens we'll be prepared --- there's about 1/3 chance that babies who develop a febrile seizure will go on to develop a second or third one before they turn 6.

When it happened I just slapped a cold pack on his forehead and drove over to ER. He was given a dose of antibiotics to treat his ear infection, and was released. We'll stock up on tylenol suppository just in case.

Man, that was some storm that hit NorCal. Floods, closed roads, power outages. I know the forecast for SoCal doesn't show it showing up until New Years night but keep a pessimistic eye on the reports. You don't want to get stuck in this one.

It's already hitting us up here in Ridgecrest. I will keep an eye on the storm and keep in contact with Clint about the weather condition in the trail region. I am not Cancelling the run at this point.

Brian, It's not that bad at all at this point. I still see blue skies and can see the mountains we will be running. I'm about 20 mile closer then Clint is and that makes a big difference up here. As long as the wind keeps blowing like it is, it will pass right over us. You have my Direct Connect, I'll give you up to the second weather updates if you want.

Just be careful guys. This is a dangerous one coming in. Look at some of the Ocean swell web sites and get an idea of what's coming.

Hope you guys have a blast tomorrow. NorCal cancelled theirs as it looks like several of the roads are impassable and rivers too deep to ford.
