TSL Thornbirds

I'm planning on ordering the cragar wheels in 15s this week and I wanna buy the Interco Thornbirds but my only problem is is that the sizing is a bit different for these tires. I'm thinking the 31x11.00x15 are the ones that will fit best but does anyone have any ideas if this is a good size or should i try a different sizing??? btw I have a 2.5 lift

Save your money,thornbirds are show tires only and are very useless.Even Interco admits that thornbirds are for show trucks and not ment for any offroad use since they suck so bad.

K Thanks what would you reccomend for a good off road tire? I drive alot on the road to going back and forth to college but I want something that is really good off road. I currenty have Maxxis Mudders and they wore out quickly and werent too great on the trail

Try GoodYears MT/R's or Interco's Trxus MT's.The Maxxis BigHorn radials are very good also and will last some time.

Since you travel back and forth to college, would you consider going with an A/T, or are you set on a M/T? I think there are a lot of good A/T tires that are pretty good on the trail. The only problem with M/T's is that you are burning good rubber on the highway. One option is to keep your OE rims and tires for highway (commuting use) and have a second set of rims and tires for off-road use.

Goodyear MT/R's comes in these sizes

235/75R15
30X9.5R15
31X10.5R15

Some of the Coopers are getting a rep for better wear, but no tire as aggressive as a true M/T gets a lot of mileage life. Some that call themselves M/T's get some good wear, but they really are not great as m/t's. A/T's work well in all but the more demanding terrain but none work correctly in real mud as far as I can tell. your 'wheeling terrain may allow you to use an a/t.

You can live with the downfalls of an aggresive tread or you can live with the downfalls of an a/t. Despite promises in ads, I have not seen one that does both well. I have MT/R's as they are an almost-there-m/t that can get 40,000 miles of road life with careful rotation/balancing. The new Km2 by BFG may work out in the long run, but the jury is still out for me.

The Toyo MT’s could be one of the most popular tires for on-road performance, durability, and quietness. Lots of trucks running them and getting good mileage. There are several people who have replaced their Goodyear MT/R’s with the Toyos and aren’t looking back. The only complaint is their price.

If you see them in the areas where M/T's were designed to perform, you'd se that the Toyo's are more like an MT/R and not a true M/T, despite what the sidewall says. They are no swamper, that is for sure...

Thornbirds are a joke. Not sure how they still justify producing them. Stay far far away.

From everything I have seen first hand, reviews on the Toyo MTs are mixed. Depending on what you run them on the mileage out if them varies. I know several guys running them on trucks and have gotten an average of 15,000 miles on them. I do know one guy running 37" Toyo MTs and he likes them, not sure on his mileage, but he is running them on a TJ which is a relatively light vehicle. From what I've seen, most people running them buy them because they are look awesome and don't expect or care to get much out of them. Street rigs. The guy I know with the TJ is currently selling his too actually but his jeep is a trail rig. I'd pass on them.

I have heard great things about Mickey Thompson MTZ, BFG KM2, BFG AT, Maxxis Big Horns, and Interco Trxus.

I'd like to see how the D.C. Mud Countrys do on and off road. I haven't heard much of anything about them, but I heard the D.C. Radial F.C. II are great AT tires.
