Illinois?

Just wondering how many active folks from IL we've got here. The reason I ask is that I was wondering if any one else would be interested in having a statewide group to go on trail rides and also discuss issues that pertain directly to IL such as the lack of trails :evil:

It would NOT be a separate entity from LOST, just a more localized group.

I like the idea of having monthly meet ups for the LOST in IL crowd. It'd be great to get to know everyone, and put faces with (screen)names.

I think a monthly meeting at a restaurant/house would be a great idea.

Just be sure to remember some people are in school and spring sports will be starting cutting into nights and weekends... I always hated getting home 8 - 9pm from baseball after school...

Also remember some people work and take night classes

Might be difficult finding a good time

Its a great idea esp. since the Midwest LOST is so scattered out. Chris (cdiekhans) and I have been talking about an OHIO get together every so often as well. Actually Moose and I talked about it 3 years ago but then.... :roll:

So go with it, its always good to get together to compare notes / what works what doesn't, kick some tires :wink:

etc. I think someones home is better since our last little get together was planned for 2 - 2.5 hours and went for 5 I think :lol:

what a bunch of liars :oops:

or I mean storytellers

Good luck with it, anything we can do to get more people involved is better for the whole MIDWEST LOST group.

not to bring up bad memories but is it time to start talking about restructuring the midwest group?

seems like the former fearless leaders of lost midwest have converted to JKs

Depending on how far into Illinois you have the meets, I would like to try and shoot over, especially if they are held on a Saturday. I live in Indiana but am only around 35 mins from Chicago. That's if you all don't mind a Hoosier joining in!

Hope whatever you all decide you accept Gypsies, I'm usually just a few miles outside the borders of any and all organized groups so I tend to float in and out of them all. (Ohio, Illinois, Indiana and Michigan).

Example: I'm a geocacher and the organized groups are all over the place but none of them are in my area. So I travel to all the different meetings and belong to lots of the groups, even one down in Tennessee! Plus I get to meet lots of great people that way!! I plan on going to East Tennessee April 4-5, Logansport, Indiana May 8-10 and Wauseon, Ohio July 23-26 to different events so far this year.

Depending on what's going on that day, I'm willing to offer my home ... but it's kind of far from everyone (near Edens Expressway and Tower Road).

I hope there isn't an Us Vs Them mentality brewing in the Midwest? LOST is about all Jeepers accepting all Jeepers regardless of what they wheel. I hope you all will wheel w/, meet w/, include any Jeep model owner?

Yeah I know I don't get a say in what you all do, just hoping you all agree w/ the LOST philosophy? (oh and it will make it easier that way to get a ILL only section set up if you do)

Agreed.

I don't do the us vs. them thing... I hope no one has any intention of it going down that way. Otherwise I'd personally have to pass on the idea.

Agree - the thought was to be all inclusive no petty us v. them b.s.

No Us-vs them or anyone
There are some things going on behind the scene's right now that will make the whole LOST MIDWEST stronger and better in the long run we hope. Area and/or state meetings are just the start of this. I have contacted a few of the members or they have contacted me and now getting some feedback and ideas.
At your IL gathering hopefully some of this maybe discussed. Full details will follow as things progress and CURRENT MEMBERS of LOST MIDWEST will be included in the final discussions. Hopefully we can move in a direction like Ca. and have LOST MIDWEST JEEPS
Since I seem to stir up the most :shock:
