There's no price listed in your post - only that the owner is willing to let it go "4 cheap".

its pretty decent looking, Id offer him $1700 and see what he says, if he gives you a counteroffer give him a counteroffer back that's a couple hundred less, work him down to a cheaper price and it'd be a good deal.

IT RAN GOOD BEFORE IT MESSD UP! IT STILL TURNS ON BUT WONT GO ANYWHERE!

You might want to ask what else this Wrangler needs as far as repairs go. Keep in mind, they all run good before they mess up.

Not being a jerk but

TWO THINGS POP UP RIGHT AWAY

1) it ran good before it messed up

2) Im kinda newbie to mechanics

I have ran into a lot of these so called great deals before only to find out there is a whole lot more wrong than what was advertised
Now if you have the wrenching skills, time and money sure go for it, ( for 1500/1700) but if not I would either have some one ( a good mechanic ) check it out good for you or pass on it.
Way too many people buy a pig in a poke only to sell it for way less than they bought it for in the first place. Of course I have always liked those kind of people, cause then I get a real great deal!

Whats a used drive shaft from the junk or jeep yard run these days? If I were lookin to buy it I'd probably show up with the driveshaft and if after putting in the shaft the rear end, tranny, transcase etc started beating each other to death I'd probably wail the guy a few times with the old broken driveshaft

on the other hand i did get a really good deal on a super cheyenne once because the guy thought the transmission was torn up when the problem was actually just busted u joints

I'd ask the guy what he was doin when he broke her, maybe take one of the guys or gals from the forum with you whose handy with a wrench. Might be a good chance to meet'n'greet some fellow lost'ers

I would hold off. There are more fish in the sea of JEEPS. The F drive shaft for my CJ was almost $200 new...

4 or 6 cyl? Auto or manual? What kind of shape is the frame in? Those things rot at the rear shackles like there's no tomorrow.

For a 93 with a 4.0L (remember, this is the infamous 4-liter - best Jeep motor in history and has the best fuel injection system offered in YJ's) and a 5-speed, with a good frame, I might pay $2000-$2500 considering it needs repair before it can even be driven. That's assuming it's somewhat clean and everything, I mean everything, works except the driveshaft. If this is a backyard hack-job with rust and poor workmanship and shortcut repairs showing, don't go over $2000 or don't buy it.

Also, whether its a hardtop or softtop, hard doors or soft half doors makes a difference. A picture would tell a thousand words in this case. But based on what you told us, I'd go in offering $2000.

I've bought and sold (and wrenched on inbetween) six CJ7's and/or Wranglers since I started driving in 1998, so I know quite a bit about what to look for. If I can help you with anything, let me know! Good luck!

I hate buying jeeps that have already been lifted and worked on. best to find a stocker and do everything your self.

Good point. You never know what you're getting. But it's a case-by-case basis. Go over this thing with a fine tooth comb.

So he says that he has 3 grand in the lift and tires and it ran good before it messed up.........and all it needs is a driveshaft.

Then why didn't he just go to the junk yard and get a driveshaft??

Check it over REAL CLOSE and underneith too and bring somebody elce with you......4 eyes are better than 2.......

Just my opinion.

 Remember what they say about opinions... :D

Some thoughts on this jeep:

* the pics look like they were taken at an impound or junkyard???
* why would he bring how it ran into question if there is no reason for it not to run correctly?
* broken driveshaft means??? Maybe just a u-joint.
* you can drive it by taking out the offending driveshaft. If it is the rear, take out the shaft, put it in 4-wheel high, and go. It will be just like a front wheel drive. This certainly works w/o a S.Y. You may need something to keep the pressure on the S.Y. to keep it from falling out. If it is the front, all you have to do is remove the front.
* WHY isn't the owner doing this pretty minor repair himself? Why is he taking such a loss to save $200?

Broken drive shaft, and dosent run, from a dark pictures it looks like 32" tires with a 2" lift and body lift, according to the distance from the stock flares and the top of the tires. If you want a toy, I offer a total amount of 800$ . Guranteed you will need plenty of wrenching skills a few more bucks to get it running properly, If it runs at all. It could turn out to be a good project Jeep if you have te $$$ and Skills.
