All in all, It would be nice to see that the manufactures actually had the common sense to build a real truck for the masses. With the heritage that Jeep has, it would be benificial to go that route. Dispite their softning, the likes of Land Rover and Toyota still have a very large presance around the world with do-it-all trucks that are way tougher than what we get here unfortunatly. Land Rover and its Defender series of trucks is still one of the best off roaders in Europe with a following that rivals Jeep in the states. The Toyota Land Cruser seems to be the only truck you see trapsing around the globe as the vehicle of choice from farmers in Australia to UN reps in the Middle East. With the J8 now in production, it would seem logical to bring it to the states, but the powers that be seem to think it would be too rough around the edges to compete with the likes of a Ford Explorer (another truck that has lost its way). My only hope at this time is that with gas prices doing the roller coaster ride its on, that the big 3 will come to there senses and build cars that are cars, and trucks that are REAL trucks.
As for "JP' and its handlers, not all Jeeps have to have 38's and a Hemi to be fun to drive on the trails!
Alright, Im done with my rant.........for now.
