Tjkj, you clearly have more wheel offset than stock. I agree, you do need bump stops but those wheels are larger than what the kit is designed for. if your wheels tucked up inside the wheel well(stock offset slightly larger tire, no problem)

Rayman thanks for repeating what I just stated.

Idid say that about HD springs, so did michael-dba

Same sized wheels at stock, just pushed out 1"(16x7/4.5" BS vs OEM 16x7/5.5" BS).My lift is only designed for 30" tires on OEM rims and I'm stuffing 31.9" tires with no problems with the supplied bumpstops that came with my lift kit.

Tony you are incorrect. all you have to do is look at the upper control arm. In the stock pick it goes up at an angle. in the 2" bump stop pic the uca is flat. that is limiting up travel which limits total tarvel.

Rayman the reason you are losing travel is because you changed the wheel offset and ran a larger tire. of course its going to rub. You are right these are not rock buggies. They have very little travel in the front if you compare them. So why would you by longer travel struts and springs and then take it away? The coil springs used with the ome struts in the will not stack. They never designed it to fail.

There are no longer "struts" made for the KJ,OEM,OME,and Rancho's are all the same length.IFS is way different then SFA,it's designed not to flex as much as a SFA,lockers are your friends  .

Oh Rayman is running OEM rims.

All company's will say this and that to cover there butts. So if you do not want to use extended bumpstops with the OME lift you will have to follow there exact specifications for wheels, tires, and such which is no fun.You didn't follow the company's rules on your tracker, your not even following the rules on your CRD since the OME 927 coils are not rated for your CRD,they are rated less then your OEM coils are. Before passing judgement and saying you shouldn't or you don't need you might want to get your P's and Q's is order first  .

Are you in fact using stock tires with your OME lift? If so, why?

The number one reason most people lift is to be able to run bigger tires in order to gain more ground clearance.

For those of us running 32" tires, extended bump stops are a must to keep the flairs on.

I can see your reasoning up to a point, but lets face it, most people do not spend a good deal of money to lift their Libby's just so they can run stock tires and go out wheeling where extra ground clearance is needed.

And your running the wrong front coils on your CRD   ,like the mushy ride?

You need to change the title to this thread to "Don't waste your time buying extended bumpstops for OME lifts, but you need to retain your OEM rims and OEM sized tires, all others disregard this topic",then I will agree with you.

Which is exactly why I'm gonna need them this summer, when I get my Franky and 32" tires  If that ever happens

The point i'm trying to make is the OME kit is designed for increased suspension performance with a slightly larger tire. The pics posted are beyond the intention of the kit. (Wider offset) Maybe the laws are different in OZ or the desired outcome is different. I'm well aware of what needs to be done when you expect more from the kit. This is a Liberty forum, it's not Pirate 4x4. Most of the people use their rigs as DD's. i don't think they are interested in getting all hard core like some of you. They will be just as happy running the OME kit with a slightly larger tire. they don't want to take a hit in gas mileage, acceleration, wear and tear, etc.

Mines a DD,no problems with my lift or bigger tires.

I lost no droop,at static ride height the piston in my Rancho's is about dead center in it's travel. The front swaybar is what keeps my droop from going to far as is the CV joints.

I'm glad you are happy. some owners may not want to go to the length you have gone to but still want to improve their vehicle. some may not have the money to invest like you have.

SkyJacker lift(in april of '04) = $580,it was on sale, granted I have upgraded to Rancho F/R shocks since the SkyJacker ones started getting mushy but that's just upkeep(it's been on for 5 years). The initial cost of my lift was cheaper then a OME lift is,install was free.

The contol arm can only travel so far. If it travels from 1 oclock to 5 oclock thru its full range and at stock ride height is at 3 oclock. when you lift the vehicle the control arm angle is increased to 3:30 or 4. That gives you less droop.
