wow. this is fasinating and sounds so much like so many threads in the early days of LOST.

I have an idea.

Tracker, I invite you to write up a full blown explanation of your thoughts and ideas for what You feel is THE suspension setup for the KJ and what it is Ideal for and what it might be lacking. Be honest and technical.
Please be as detailed as possible, show pics of suspensions, etc. w/ explanations, etc. I will make it a sticky in the tech section and lock it so it won't turn into a discussion, just One viewpoint....

and then.....
Tommudd, Could you Please do exactly the same?

Troy, How about you?

Anyone else want to write up one?

I would love to see several tech threads on the subject w/ whatever viewpoint you want to adress. Tell us what works and why and what you all base it on. we will just fill up the tech section and then point any newbs w/ questions in that direction to sort it out for themselves. I am sure that any and all of them will be Right in their own way and will be basically sound ways to accomplish the same thing.

Then maybe we can lock down Another thread (this one) that just turns into a pissing match like so many before it and Maybe we won't have to watch another one of these evolve.

btw, I'm serious about those tech articles. anyone?

Please Pm me w/ what you got and we will get a sticky article going.

a stock crd has 4 3/4" of droop. Yeah you gained ground clearance but lost droop with your set up.

Gloves are off i tried to be polite. my nuts sag 4" woopty fu#kin doo you ask why lift a liberty if your not going to wheel it? To replace the crappy suspension. I wouldn't want to wheel a liberty, aluminum front diff and unibody are potential for carnage. You will never be able to run larger tires unless you consider 32 large  . i don't want to wheel on the kiddie trails. on the east coast you can't even go on the moderate to hard trails unless you have at least 33s and a locker. i would never spend 20 to 30 thousand on a rig and mods and only be able to run small tires(32). If i was going t spend that kind of money I would build a rig that could run 90% of the trails out there. There is like 10 people on here with ifs that think they are god but don't even know why they need droop or why its a dumb idea to use a spacer in a strut with a progressive rate spring. lock it.
Okay one last round.........................

I know all about droop,so I lost a whole 3/4" of droop,I added more then that in overall ground clearance with lockers I'm able to go more places then you can with your 3/4" droop and I porbally ride better also.Heck I've not spent more then $5000 in mods, went as far as the IFS will go and now the IFS is going bye, bye(along with most of the OEM drivetrain) for bigger and better stuff to run 35" tires, and I'll still ride better then your CRD.

Just one question, why knock offroading when you bought a Jeep? Okay 2 ?'s,the second is you went from on joke of a vehicle to a real vehicle and your wanting to revert it to a joke vehicle like you had, why?
