Hello

I have 1996 KJ with folding, power mirrors.

There is a mirror I am thinking of buying but it
also has the memory option, which I don't
have.

Apparently, the connector is different.

Does anyone know if a memory mirror can
be made to fit by simply changing the
connector?

My thought was to match up the correct
wires and splice on the connector from the
old mirror.

I appreciate any input you can give me.

Thanks . . . . Brian

Sorry but there is no such thing as a '96 Jeep Liberty(KJ),they did not start producing the Liberty(KJ) till the 2002 model year.Do you mean Cherokee(XJ) or Grand Cherokee(ZJ for '96)?

I am so sorry . . . .

I don't know what I was thinking.

I meant 2006 and I wrote it wrong twice.

My apologies. I really am not quite as
stupid as it seems.

Okay that sounds more like it,don't worry I always hit the wrong keys all the time.

Oh and I didn't know KJ's had memory mirrors.

I didn't know either until someone ripped
it right off last week and I had to do some
investigating. Was at the doctors for 30
minutes and when I came out - my mirror
was trashed. The most expensive doctors
appointment I've ever had after having to
buy a new mirror.

I don't know if all this is true, but it seems
there is folding or non-folding, power or
manual, and memory or no memory.

I have power, folding and what I looking to
get is power, folding, memory because there
is one on ebay and I foolishly bid and won it
before I found out about the memory thing.
I thought I had all the bases covered, but ya
know how that goes.

If it won't work, I will have to ask them to let
me out of the deal, or just buy it if they won't
let me.

It would seem there has to be some way to
get this to work?

I think a memory mirror is one that remembers specific settings for multiple drivers. But I wasn't aware that any model Liberty has them. Maybe the KKs?

This was brought up a year or so ago... IIRC, it was never an option offered from the factory, but if had them you could unlock the feature through the EVIC (if you have one). There was a post back in 07 or early 08 about it, try the search buton.
