Has anyone used these on a liberty? I am thinking of getting some snow chains for my 32" tires but am concerned there is not enough room for the chains when flexing.

I own a set, since the law is that a high clearance 4x4 with M+S tires has to "carry chains" to cross mountain passes, but I haven't used them. Do you plan on wheeling with them on? I know on my rig, I wouldn't be able to stuff any corner with them on.

Yes, i thought they would be good to have in case i needed them. I plan to go through the rocky mountains on a trail that is traditionally used by quads and snowmobiles in the winter. I've been on it many times in the summer and once with a few inches of snow. It's got a good rocky base but is covered by snow and ice. At the end of the trail is a large waterfall that i would like to photograph in the winter. I just ordered a winch today that i will have for the trip as well.

if you add tire changes to a 32 inch tires that's going to make the outside larger than 32's that you can barely sneak on the KJ anyway. i'd say yes you can use them.. but they will rip off your flares in the back and rub on the pinch weld in the front.

In the front i have a few inches of clearance but in the back... This is where the air bag idea would come in handy. Just pump it up to the right height to clear the chains.

There are many designs, some of which are much lower profile but still meet "chain requirements". I carry some of the cable style chains which are low profile but not really good "off road", only on road.

Basically, if you have to have them in the truck, then there are some low profile styles that won't affect clearance.
