damm

i picked up my 7 x 4 for 200 bucks , tore it apart

paid 650 for a highside body kit with floor

welded it up , paid 70 bucks for an axle, sold the holden rims on ebay , made money back for axle

and paid 100 bucks for a mate to do a respray with etch primer and 2 top coats

3K= :shock:

Unfortunately that is what it cost's these day's. Most of it is material's as steel still hasn't gone down really.
I can remember the good old day's when I use to be able to full ute back's for around that price and man some
hour's went into those. Better off looking for second hand one and let modification bug bite it to. If you need some
pointer's on welding just let me know I am alway's keen to help out.

also consider a canvas canopy as those tradesman tops don't seal as well as they should anyway
possible saving.

Yes, the search continues.. Did find a brand new 5x3, long draw, (same as a 6x4) 410mm sides, 850 on road, Just have to see how much to add a heaveier axle, 12in gaurds for the 31's and extra height. Also found a place that supplies a pretty good offroad hitch, kinda like a treg but not a treg, for around 200.

Still trying to get intouch with that first guy (pic a few pages back.) that would be a good starting point.

Bought another camo tyre cover from ebay, thanks for the idea Fros.
Picked up a couple of mtrs of rubber flare, so I have that little job to do, which will mean bending flat the fold in the mudguard edge, and then either bolting or pop riveting them on.
I'm also looking at this new type of rubber mat, made from recycled tyres for the trailer.

And I nearly forgot, have a 1.5 mtr sand flag coming, so I can see where the trailer is when reversing!!! :shock:
