My wife needs a little more padding on the seat for long trips so she does not get numb legs and a back ache.
Does anyone know a source to purchase a gel seat bottom cushion that I can set on the seat or slip under the seat fabric?
A seat bottom cover that has the pad built in would be great.
The pillow we are using now is too soft and bulky.

Google OBUSFORME. My wife has this gel type pad on the driver seat. I tried it on a trip from Utah to Washington (14 hours). It worked good for me and my wife likes it too. :D

has she tried one of the butt doughnuts? people usually use them for roids or something but they're pretty comfy

I would suggest a coccyx cushion. This will protect the tail bone. I had tail bone surgery about a year ago and can really understand the sensitivity of sitting for a long period of time.

A coccyx custion has a V or U shape cut out of the back of the cushion so the tailbone (coccyx) doesn't have any pressure on it when you sit.

I would have to swear by OregonAero products. I have one of their cushions that I use when flying long missions in Iraq. I've used it for greater than 1000 hours total and it's still as comfortable as when I first got it. They aren't cheap by any means but they are worth every dollar. Here's the link:
