Ok, so I just picked up a rolled 05 limited, I'm trying to decide which parts to keep and which to sell, I really wouldn't mind recouping some of my money by selling off parts, but likewise some of the best parts to sell are some of the best ones to keep.

Couple of examples; factory skids, 6 disk cd/radio, heated leather seats, dimming mirror, evic, tpms, etc.......now all those things could bring me a pretty penny, but I also kinda like them.

To top it all off if I installed those things in my Dads KJ I'm not sure how long we will keep it, we bought this Jeep for an engine swap into a XJ, and once thats done we will have one too many vehicles, and I am sorry to tell you that I think it will either be the KJ or the Mercedes that gets sold. Basically, those things might get added to the KJ only to be sold with it a few months later.

So, I'm torn....any thoughts?

i know a guy that wants your skids and EVIC if you do decide to go that route

oh yeah, and about your problem, so your going to have your KJ, your dads KJ, the diesel MJ, and a mercedes? i would definatly keep the diesel comanche around for one, thats just plain cool, and two, when gas shoots back up, diesel may be cheaper, or you could always run bio-diesel. i guess out in colorado you dont have to worry about all weather vehicles, so in that case i would probably keep the benz. as much as i hate to say it.. it makes the most sence...

It would make the vehicle lineup this:
1988 Jeep Comanche CRD
1993 Nissan 300zx Twin Turbo convertible
1996 Nissan Twin Turbo
1998 Mercedes Benz E300 TD
2000 Jeep Cherokee CRD
2005 Jeep Liberty CRD

So basically I think my father will keep the XJ CRD, which means he has to choose between the mercedes and the KJ.

The mercedes gets 35+ MPG highway, its a nice sweet ride. But its just a sedan. And it has 230k miles on it. But it has another 230k miles in it still.

Its a tossup, I kinda think the KJ will goto the butcher block first.

are you talking about the connector, with some wire left on it to splice?

i have a question, not sure anyone will know it though

the center console tray, the part that's screwed into the arm rest console that people put random things in, are they the same between the 03 and the 05 models? if so, would you like to part with the one from the rolled jeep?

If you assess your "fleet" and determine the KJ will be the odd man out, I'd then assess the KJ as to what "niceties" will help it sell to the average driver of a grocery grabber and then take all the extra goodies that us LOST folks would covet and sell those.

Ya, that's what I am thinking. Problem is I don't know how much value its really going to add to it. Upgrading all the goodies from the limited to the sport only adds about $1100 to the blue book value, I am not sure if I could really make that much up on the difference in sale price.

Now if I went one step further and made the sport into a limited that would add $2100 to the book value, but I just don't think I could really get that much of a return on all the work to do that.

Private Party sale you might be able to get some of that back...but I definitely agree that the sport money would be much harder to recoup.
