change plugs you have done that or had it done correct, should do every 30,000 or so, coil sits on top of the plugs

I'm not really into the technical aspects of the KJ, b/c I do not know a lot about the engine and stuff.
I am more about I OWN A JEEP AND I'M PROUD OF IT!!!

No offense taken dude!

Hey, theres nothing wrong with that at all! At least you think about it and understand that it needs to be done(unlike most). :)

Not having the cap and wires sure makes it a lot simpler. Just change the plugs and be done with it.

Rip,

you are OK by me, at least you own, drive and upgrade your Jeep plus you ask questions, lots better than those that don't know but pretend they do. Hang in there and learn as you go!

Better watch out what you say in the future tom, the 09 KK's use 3 spark plug wires and 3 coils packs to fire all 6 of the plugs

Im still not 100% sure how they they are able to do this by sharing a coil pack, but i guess it works

Those cylinders probably fire at the same time, or the other plug fires at a time when it does no harm(ie during an exhaust stroke)

You can get KJ 3.7 distributor cap, rotor, and wires at the "dealer", right along with an RX7 timing belt, according to one of our parts suppliers.

The I-6 4.0's used the same setup before they killed them. I believe Sir Sam is right, two plugs fire and only one is needed. Think its called a waste spark or something fancy..
