I am looking to start a low buck class of whelling for the budget wheelers in michigan at the twisted trails off road park and am looking to see how would be up for it . I am working on the lay out and the rule looking for your input

Open Differential (SUBJECT TO CHANGE )

One winch front mount with applicable front , rear tow point

Maximum of 8 off-road lights including 2 headlights

Minimum of 3” x 30’ tow strap no hooks

One 8k Winch

Tree Saver a must no exceptions

Multiple straps and weighted body to keep vehicles upright and
level allowed

Vehicle plus team and/or official staff to assist in winch
recovery operations

Max 6 cyl. Engine no bigger than a 4.0L

Must be stock T case

No 4:1 no tera low kits only stock or 2:62:1 factory

Two fire extinguishers

At any point self recovery will be allowed

Tire type does not matter 31 x 10.50 no custom cutting allowed

MINIMUM of 8 off-road lights? Many do not like the Camel Trophy look at all, especially since most of the trails around this area eat such lights for lunch.

Open Differential? As this is singular, can one be locked? Open front required? What if you are one of the many rigs that have a factory LSD's: they are not open, so they cannot participate? This needs to be clarified.

What if your rig had 4:1 t-case factory? Are you going to eliminate 6spd rigs? Even with a 2.XX transfer, they have a crawl ratio that is as low or lower than an auto with 4:1, assuming stock axle gearing.

Limit on T-case, but not on axle gearing? So 5.38's are good to go?

You might want to loosen up a bit on some of the "minimums" to get more participation. Good luck on your endeavor.

thanks for your in put we are still laying out the ground work and it is SUBJECT to change I am notr out ruleing any thing As of right now just see what most people with draily driver to get invaled as well but I don't wont they to has there a** handed to them with the big higher doller rig and larger than the daily driver .thanks for the info

Just my .02...alot of guys w/ XJs and TJs are running the more popular 4" suspension lifts or combination of a body/suspension lift and this is yielding more or less than 4" of lift. 3" is just a hair lower than what should be allowed. 4"-5" lift would be a better suited limitation to this class as it would allow a vast majority of mildly built Jeeps to enter without having to down grade.

Of course you're guna get alot of fight w/ the 31" rule...but it's probably the most affordable and best way as it allows alot more articulation.

I'm not really sure exactly what the challenge would be all about, but I'm assuming a 4WD competition like Peterson's Offroad Mag puts on.

i am working on a coruse lay out and yes it is not the ever day wheeling event there will be off camber and lot of stuff like that body life are going to be a question but if they have as 3" lift and them a body life I will have to look at that thanks ant the tire rules is being look at
it based on money not hoe base booty you rigs is lower doller people need to base there skill on the driver and the jeep
