I installed an EVIC that I bought on ebay in my dads jeep this weekend. A bit of background: my dads Jeep is an 05 renegade 3.7L w/ TPMS. I cannot remember what year the EVIC I bought was supposed to be fore becuase it was almost a year ago when I bought it. But, I was under the impression that it would be compatible. I know that there are some compatability issues between the EVICs and different year KJs but I'm not sure whats compatible with what now.

Here are the problems that its having:
- outside temp is displayed as "--". There is a sensor installed.
- the map lights dont work quite right. they dont turn on and off when they should (with doors etc.) and pushing them doesnt always turn them on or off. very odd
- TPMS is showing one tire as being low even after filling it. do these need to be retrained or something? if so, how is this done?

Depends on what year sensors they are. Sensors after 04 do not need to be trained but the ones before 05 do.

The map lights sound like its a problem with the light itself. All that is is a switch.

Not sure about the temp..

Do a search for EVIC's. The '05+ models need a newer style EVIC, I think from '05 or newer, for the temp sensor to work. These are hard to find used and they're big money.
