I ran the coax thru the passenger feet area through the upper part of the front fender, and thru the flap of rubber that encompasses the windshield and doors. There was a grommet there, and I taped it up really well so there could not be any penetration from water... considering I don't go in any rivers anyway, I think I should be OKAY!

Where's your antenna and CB going to be located?

where did you put the control box for the CB? I have the same radio but haven't mounted anything yet.

OK, Got the antenna bracket mounted. I need 1 more flush screw to make things extra secure but it should be fine. Even along the flipper glass the screw heads can get in the way! Take a look and give me your thoughts, good or bad. 8)

looks nice drybones! with it mounted that way it shouldn't cause the flipper to leak either, it took me alot of fanangaling to get mine to stop leaking with my coax running from the roof into the moulding at the top (same area that the rear defrost bungie wire goes) water was following the coax into the vehicle until i notched the weatherstripping, ran it behind the weatherstripping and then gasketed the crap out of it

gotta problem.... well two actually
I can not get the SWR tuner to work, and I know that I have it hooked up correctly.

And

Everytime I push to talk (transmit), I hear myself and static in my speakers when the radio is on. When the radio is off, I don't hear myself or static...I don't hear any engine noise, just when I transmit.

Thanks!!!

alot of external swr tuners ya have to adjust the dial before they work right but i'm kinda assuming you already know that

do you have a spare coax you can hook up and run out the door up to the antenna to do a test transmit to see if it causes the same problem maybe it's the coax?

that's a fairly odd issue, what method did you use to ground your antenna or is it one of the groundless antennas?

oh

i didn't see another wire from the antenna is the reason i asked

if you're certain you have a good ground on your antenna, and a good ground on your radio then i'd borrow a 2nd coax and hook it up real quick and see what happens then

only thing i can think is, is that the antenna is leaking during TX through the ground or the coax is bad

i wouldn't think that the radio box under the seat would be discharging stuff into the electronics, ive seen lot's of people mount those boxes inside the dash behind the head unit with no problems

Rip,
What did you do for power and ground to the CB control box? You may also have to draw me a picture of how you mounted it under the seat too.
