I own a 2004 Jeep Liberty Renegade approaching 74000km. A year ago I had the brakes done (front followed by rears) @ the dealership. Ever since then I have had a squeak (annoying as hell) while driving, (over the Winter it wasnt as annoying because Windows are up) But its spring now, so Windows and SunRoofs are down, its worse when pulling out of the lane way in the morning, or driving at slower speeds. They (dealership) thought that it was my U-joint and ordered me a new part $expensive$ (Power Train Warranty) so all I had to pay was $100 deductable. HOWEVER that has not solved the problem. Here were are a year later, and still the problem persists, I have been back several times, to have them ("clean") the pads. Can anyone shed any light on this, for me.

I am going in tomorrow for "Service" Peace of mind service the dealership calls, it.....Ya right....

Need advice ASAP, gladly appreciated.

After driving a while, check your wheels to see if they are hot. Abnormally hot anyway, you may have a sticking caliper. Easy to replace yourself.

that would be a good starting point, and as for cleaning the pads... never heard of it, and don't know how it would benefit anything.

um as for cleaning brake pads

2 dollar can of brake cleaner at autozone, a lug wrench and a jack

but as hood said.. sounds like you might have a sticky caliper

just remember, calipers are replaced in pairs
