Ok, look every one. I never intended this post to be a personal bash on marty. If I wanted to, I could have sat there and burn him a new one and it would have started world war marty and it would have been locked. People would have walked away butt hurt( don't know if I can say that) and I would have lost a great friend. I felt as thought a post like this was going to happen in the very near future and I decided to post information to head off an attack and let people know that they are not the only one out there with problems. Yes, Marty has been through HELL that last couple of years, and any one that knows him personally will tell you that same thing and will tell you that he got the shaft from his ex, but HIS PERSONAL LIFE IS HIS OWN AND NONE OF OUR BUSINESS. It was his decision to post some info on the problem.

I have a very long talk with him at lunch today and I'm fully confident that things will get done, but his family comes first...

Now if you want to think of this as total BS, go head because I'm sure not going to stop you. But I would hope that I have opened the eyes of some people to show them that yes, you may wait a little while, but in the end, things will get done. Right now Marty has to find time for his kids which is number one. as you know, time is short these days. And with a jacked up work schedule, it is hard for him to turn time in to money.

Ok I'm done for now

Against my better judgement I'm going to offer my opinion for what it's worth. First, I totally understand most of the posts here and the reasons / opinions by each author. Yes including the idea to let Marty reply. That's all regarding the issue at hand.

Now I just want to add -- Digger, by your own admission, never ever say anything anywhere not just here out of frustration, especially if it's not due to the original complaint or statement. I'm not jumping on you for this, but it is good advice for anyone reading here to remember. It will always come back to bite you in the ARSE.

And just for the record, I was carefully wording this reply while JL Rockies, Inc and Digger submitted replies.

No, as I will say again, I look at all sides of the problem and try to call it as I see it. I'm not a one sided NFL ref..

I also know things can come back and bite you in the arse and I openly invited people to contact me if they had a problem with this post or if they just wanted to talk

Well, I for one thank Digger for the info. It is good for us as a whole to see the reality of these types of situations and I think we are all better off for it in the end. Marty addressed the problem directly with Digger and both parties appear to have reached a conclusion. Thanks to everyone for posting in a mature and responsible way too. Threads like this can get out of hand quick and this one didn't. Image

I agree Inc, but as I eluded to, Diggerfreek admitted he posted out of frustration, and never a good thing to do. I also agree it was not only nice to see civil replies to this topic but I also found it amazing that I could understand the reasons behind most each and every reply, including the original post by Diggerfreek.

Another happy ending as we all wheel off into the sunset. :D

Edit; I hate when I confuse people... What I meant was, because of the mishap earlier in the day, that added to Digger's frustration, and that one should always cool off for before acting on something else that is also bothering. WHew.... it's windy now. Oh well, I too am done here.

If I may.. I've always been hesitant to lay down money for products which are still in development or on long waiting lists. I always appreciate information or discussion such as this because it lets me know when the fabricator is either in a hole, which Marty has been in a hole for awhile, or is comming out of a hole.. hush ThunderbirdJunkie no funny remarks :P

It lets people like me get a feel for when it's best to lay down our money, sure the orig post coulda been worded better but feelings and frustration don't always give much breathing room for such graceful tact

I think it makes it worse and harder to not let the feelings or frustration show when the product you're waiting for is of such caliber as Martys bumpers

Customers deserve to know when they need to prepare themselves for longer waits than they may suspect, either as being a responsible customer and asking, by the fabricator telling them directly, or through other customers

I wish i was in a different situation so that I could help, when a local roll cage fabricator got in a hole in a similar situation I would chip in and give him a hand whenever I could

I can't say that there's a single one of you guys and gals around here that I've spoke to or conversed with through posts or otherwise that I don't like and respect. The frustration with the whole deal is understandable, even under the assumption that it was going to take a long time, I hope that things get better for Marty, I'm sure he's frustrated as well.

So you gonna give that dowry back for ThunderbirdJunkie's firstborn daughter then?

ThunderbirdJunkie has a nice jeep.
If ThunderbirdJunkie's firstborn daughter is as worthy as ThunderbirdJunkie's Jeep, I will keep that investment in place.
