Anyone want some changes/reorganize LOST MIDWEST?

i tried to put you on there tom, maybe i was a little off where toledo is. sorry about tanzania. i dont really know where that is either... anyways i just scribbled this together for fun.

I love that Lake county Indiana is part of Illinois on that map... :shock:

When I started the whole scary discussion about "segregating" the groups, what I meant was segregating their forums. Its nice that all my neighbor states are all in one forum section.

I'm not sure what the president would do besides probably be the VP of his region as well as organize the occasional entire midwest event.

In my mind the VP's were the people that organized events in their area. Like others said, it doesn't mean others cant organize events or go wheelin' or playing in the snow...

Really its a matter of finding some volunteers to help us have fun and find new liberty owners to mingle with.

i didnt realise that woodridge was that far north into IL but it's just about even with the north border of IN/OH on the accurate maps \

but then again, this novel new fact i learned doesn't supprise me near as much as the fact that OH is east of IL when I thought it was West of IL :oops:

ill take a wild stab that midway and ohare are way north.. therefore i was always facing south when going to the house, and with the disorientation of the airplane trip, my south turned north

thats a complicated explanation of 'i didnt pay close enough attention in 3rd grade geography' and that I should stop poking jokes at 2nd LT's even though theres nothing wrong with my land nav skills.. just apparently i had the US map rearranged without permission

How far of a drive is it from around DuPage to Toms?

lol boiler, what I like the best is that IL kicked the lake completely out of it's border, that eastern knot that juts into Indiana is covered by water :lol:

cause thats the stretch of IL that goes between waukegan and hammond that much I do know! theres a bar right near hammond that a friend of ours worked at and I got pretty plastered there a few times and walked across the street into indiana and bought smokes for like 10 dollars :evil:

Don't forget, LOST has the Frappr map out there were a lot of people posted... Not sure where the link is though.

You can zoom in on specific locations. Some users are not active anymore however. But new users can update their locations to an established map.

Alright, after 3 pages I've finally decided to post my .02 cents.

I think that the following would be useful for organization

MIDWEST
- IL (for example)
- president
- "marketing" person
- "newsletter" person

I believe that the duties required in order to get LOST out there for the rest of the world to see should be split amongst many people. Not only does this share the burden, but enables more people to be active leaders in the LOST community. I don't think that leadership should depend on years you've owned a KJ, or years wheeling, or even years on LOST. I think leadership should be bestowed upon those who have the free time and the desire.

I'm all for a change. I think that regional meetings are the way to go - with members free to join up with whatever group they wish (be it LOST Toledo, or LOST Chicagoland). The great thing about LOST is that it's global. There should never be competition between cities / countries. That said, I think a new roll-call should be taken. There needs to be an accurate and current count.

Alright, I'm done now ...

I think Ann is on the right track with this, too. Maybe it's time to do a new roll call. Taking a peek at the current roll call - out of the first 50 memebers listed, maybe 7 have been recently active.

ok so as i was forming ideas the mods made a move...i like it sort of...let me get my thoughts together and see what everyone thinks...but pease do keep the main midwest folder going for general announcements like invites to rallies, meetings, etc...

You guys will be able to do whatever you like in any of the LMW sections. Use the General section for announcements for all, the subs to keep things organized, etc. We will still be keeping an eye on you all though. :wink:
