Well here they are.
Look pretty good, and don't stick out as much as I first thought.
Did have some rubbing issues, so did the pinchy's quickly with a bfh, but will have to revisit them again soon and finish the job properly, but it is much better.
Now I have to sort the front plastics out too.
All fun and games.

It's been a huge learning curve with these things, as soon as I left fourbys, I turned hard and big noises happened, got out and had a look, and the tyre was stuffed hard into the pinch well.

So after a cautious drive back to work, I decided to got to town on the pinchys. So I get the jack out and the wheel brace, and guess what, the Jeep one won't fit....
So tried a socket, and that would fit, but I didn't have the leverage needed to break those airgun torqued up studs. (I'll have to visit repco on monday to get a tyre iron that fits and works.)

So went to it with a short handled sledgehead, bloody rough, and it felt really wrong, I'm not sure I've recovered from that experience yet, but you haven't really modded your car till you've gone at it with a BFH :twisted:

So just clears the pinchers now, and once i get the wheels off and have another go, It'll be better.

The front plastics are another story, flat out all weekend, so hopefully monday I'll be able to trim some off to get close to full lock. I was getting some rubbing with the stock wheels on the front anyway, and as Fros knows, I'm keen to do a bumper cut soon, but mondays effort will be doing just enough to gain clearance, and really it's only in a couple of places, and it sounds a lot worse than it is.

How you guys run 10.5's or 265's is beyond me!!! :shock:

And yes, I think some new bumpstops will be in order before too long, and i'll probably be asking for help in this department...hint, hint :lol:

the sound of rubbing rubber - yes with 265's its like my snoring - doesn't matter what I do its still there.

But from my own limited experience I would suggest

get a really big BFH - I ended up using the flat end of a 1.2m block splitter :shock:

uch to the concern of my neighbour who thought I'd lost the plot -- the Kj only had 10 K on the clock at that point :wink:

but I have a very flt weld now :lol:

rip out the front plastic linings and buy several cans of underseal/sound deadening stuff - its simpler than cutting, trying, cutting trying all ok - go offroad rip some more out of your rubber, try again etc.etc.

and keep looking for the another three for the trailer

As promised, got to work finishing the pinchys, and doing some minor surgery on the front plastics.
Easy enough job, couple of bemused work colleagues had to look twice when I was weilding the sledgy.
Radical improvement on lock, though I'm sure as Steve pointed out, as I take it offroad, there will be more to come, but for now, and for Teewah on the weekend, it should do the trick.
