Hey folks - Just thought I'd let you all know that I just dropped the Liberty off at my dealer (along with a copy of TSB 23-013-08 Rev. B).

I hope to have it back this evening, and will let everyone know how it went. Dealer's service rep seemed quite calm when she heard "skyslider wind noise". Seems to me she knows about it already.

Thanks again to Digger for posting that TSB for me... I MUST get everything fixed (skyslider's the only thing really) before Chrysler Canada folds!

It's interesting that you posted an issue about the SkySlider. I was actually about to post a poll to see who else is having problems with the SkySlider. I am currently going to file a compaint with Chrysler for the excessive wind noise. I had the TSB performed about a month ago. It slightly reduced the noise, but I still experience excessive wind noise and I beleive the reduction in noise was temporary. I will post the poll very soon. Please check it out.

Maybe a wind deflector all the way up front may help with this issue.. That could be their solution.

I would LOVE a wind deflector personally.

Sorry for the lack of updates though - my highway trip planned was postponed.

Had the TSB performed, and the manager test drove - he CLAIMS that the noise level is normal at this point. I'll be out on the highway this weekend, and I should be able to give a better update.

cross your fingers for me.

Brendon, I think you will be pleased with the immediate results, but I find that some of the noise returned. It is still better than it used to be, and is acceptable in my opinion. We gotta get someone to manufacture a wind deflector for that thing. Or maybe we should do it? Probably decent money in it.

I was thinking about *attempting* my own build as well....

My plan:

Take two of the MOPAR wind deflectors designed for the KK Sunroof - and play with them.... not sure what type of plastic they are, but you SHOULD be able to cut them, match up the roof contour somehow, then melt the two together (that might be the difficult part - might be easier to fiberglass patch them together...

WAIT!

shtit I've got it.

shape something out of styrofoam to the desired shape/size to match the roof, and cover the front - ummm... 1 inch? of the skyslider... then simply fiberglass over it. If one wants to re-use the foam mold (for production), you have to coat it in something (can't remember the compound), otherwise, the fiberglass resin melts the foam.

An deflector which hangs over the top of the skyslider by 1" should even be invisible from the inside - as that little pop-up screen when the roof opens would hide it.
