Not having rocker guards finally caught up to me last weekend while wheeling on some very muddy trails at night. Not sure if rocker guards would have saved the door? We will see what the damage is today when I visit the claims adjuster. Unfortunately it looks worse in person.

How does insurance usually react to claims due to damage during wheeling? Do people have to get riders on their policies to make them include wheeling damage?

Normally I wouldn't care about a few more scratches but this one is already starting to rust and gives it a little too much character. 6 months ago I swapped cars with my wife and now she drives the KJ, she is not too happy about "her" Jeep. This is the first real damage I've done to it so I'm not too happy about it either.

My collision insurance covered the damage but I will have to pay the deductible ($500). There are several repair shops around here that will waive your deductible though. I am curious to see what the total bill will be, the bottom right of the rear bumper picked up some really deep gouges also.

This pic falls under the "What were you thinking?!" catagory.

My Libby has "pinstiping" down the length of the fenders that I expect I can buff out but a friend of mine managed to rub against a tree on a trail and left a crease in the door posts

My guess is that body fill is the only way to cover this trail rash.

Wouldn't paying for your trail rash repairs out of your pocket be cheaper in the long run? I'd expect your rates to go up after the claim.

That sucks bighause! But yeah, that might bite you in the behind with the insurance... at least up here it probably would.

I backed into a telephone pole (yeah, stupid one for sure), cost me $1500 out of pocket to fix that one, but I'm saving the insurance claim for the big stuff ;-)

My insurance states to file a claim you have to have the accident on a official road.Glad all approved trails here in CO are considered Forest Service roads so I'm covered.
