Thanks guys 8)

Wasn't sure how it was going to look, I've had them for about a week and it was all rainy and stuff so I didn't want to put them on with it all nasty out until the decals had set

Think I should try shooting a shot of clearcoat over them or would it just flake off?

Took another pick today in the daylight, it's a tad hard to tell, my phone doesn't register fine gradients in color very well but they're an aluminum grey

What does LOTS stand for?

idea thief!

looks good though. I've had my lettering on my covers for almost 2 years now and they haven't started peeling off or anything. the clearcoat isn't a bad idea though.

Oh i def. freely admit I stole the idea from Jeep4me99, the clear coat came from the paranoia that i was going to screw up the decals when cleaning them (lots of narsty bugs here in NC)

Thanks TokyoJoe :) Wonder how many of us actually know what Bravo Zulu means :P

I've got to wait for the clear coat to cure a bit more before I polish them a little bit, they don't need much but there is some surface trash that managed to get on the S that I think will come right off with a little micro compound

The O on the other hand, looks like it was done in a clean room

I see no signs of clouding or anything and the adhesion looks very good, it also flowed nicely and settled down during drying, I'm very pleased

as a side note, Don't use testors rattlecan clear coat, the clear coat itself is great and cures to an extremely durable finish, but..

the nozzle/cans tend to get drips in the can lip and before you know it you tap the nozzle and squirt drops across your stuff instead of mist

but even with that I'm happy with them

:D

lol yea i put the decals on back around the first week of March, ordered the decals for it like Mid feburary

I still have a 2nd set of decals of U S M C that I haven't done anything with yet

I very well may buy a 2nd set of covers to put that on, although my friend keeps shovin a dremel in my face tellin me I should cut the letters into a spare set so that when I turn on the lights it shines the letters..

but like i keep tellin him, turnin the lights on for any extended period of time is both bad for the light and bad for the covers

I don't know what i'll end up doing, for the time being those decals will sit idle until i make up my mind

Just rememebr to place them in the proper order or you'll get:

STOL
LOTS
SLOT
TOLS
TOSL
TSOL (which is good for people looking back at you in their mirrors) like an Ambulance
OLST

etc....
