name of the game should be to upgrade your suspension not keep the same junk that Jeep gave you, its like keeping the stock junkyears ....why?
Replacing the stock coils with new stock ones would cost the same or more than OME. Why is so many against upgrading to a better suspension system ? Always amazes me . Only cost a dollar more to go first class

Bure aghali

no reason to take off a lift that works. All i want to do is replace the coils front and rear that either give no lifts or maybe an inch lift. like i said so far my cv's are fine. at full flex no where near max angle. they are fine. only reason to upgrade the spring is a better ride over stock and to give the libby back its lifted look.

I think i am going to go with Rusty's with shocks as my starter lift and upgrade when funds are better.

last week i got rid of my rustys lift. dont go that rout. its better to wait. i didnt listen and i had hella problems with it. plus it sagged like 1.5 inches in 3 months and my rear drivers side spring got reallly weak and pulled the whole side down. i have ome HD springs now with superlift rear shocks. my rustys shocks died and the struts are on their way out

thing is tommud, hey i can't i keep the rk lift but just put new coils underneath it the provide some lift without going over the 4.5'' lift mark. this is'nt my decision since its the girls rig. she likes the rk lift but just wants new coils front and rear

You know what you could do is buy the OME HD springs but cut enough of the spring so you don't gain anymore lift then you have now.

I am running skyjacker coils in the front but to make them work with Rancho struts I had to cut a bit of the coil. Don't see why you couldn't do that? Then you would be good to go.

And I know you'll are thinking why not just replace RK for the OME but he wants to keep the RK so I am just offering an option.

Well i doubt those OME HD springs well give her CRD 4'' of lift. That is what we need for the rock up here in colorado and to continue running her tires that she likes.

umm 265/75/16's they do great. no rub at all and stuff very well atm. I just want new coils so she has a smoother ride and a bit more lifts to clear the tires a bit more and to have a little more flex when we play in the rocks here in colorado

You can not go much over 3"-3.5" with a CRD,that drivers side CV shaft is way short and expect cut boots often. There was a guy that was on here that tried that RK lift on his CRD,total fail since at full droop it would cut his inner drivers side CV boot. They have the RK 3.5" lift as "not for CRD's" now since that extended front clevis cuases problems with that short CV shaft on the CRD's.

Ok so here is the problem we run into now. If it is truely best to buy the OME heavy duty CRD coils front and rear with new struts, then should i do that? What should i do. Could i get the cv cut down and then add lift or what. We need 4'' lift on the CRD for are wheeling type. Other problem short on cash my lady is. So where stuck here.

Its not as easy as cutting the CVs down as there is a difference in gassers and CRDs like tjkj stated the drivers side CVs are shorter so when lifted it will cut the boot etc. best thing to do is full OME Lift
Call and talk to AllJs ( boulderbars.com ) as well they can help you come up with a plan of action

Hey tommud quick question then about the cv's. Could i use gasser cv's in the crd since they are longer or would that be a no go cause of the added weight of the CRD engine?

What you mean it sits over towards the driver side. Don't both the gasser and crd diff's sit in the the same place?

No,the CRD's oil pan forced Jeep to move the diff over more towards the drivers side to clear the 2.8's oil pan, different cradle, different CV shafts(both sides) but the same diff between the gas and diesel.
