I realize this is going to break your heart, but you need a reality check. To be honest, Bears fans don't think much about the Vikings or their real fans. We've grown accustomed to the fact the Vikings can't win the big game. The big game they all play for. They wrote the book on choking. This might really hurt but I have to say it. We as Bear fans don't even give a second thought to seasons like last year, because the whole season was a waste if the Bears don't win. We despise the Packers and their fans. Nothing else is as important. The oldest rivalry in the NFL is as strong as ever. But it's okay you were not aware of any of this, since you don't know a darn thing about Bears fans.

Oddball, I wouldn't care much for a divisional team that owned my team record-wise, either. Makes sense to me. If you can sweep the Vikes for 5 straight years, you guys can catch up! They are, in my view, several rungs from the top at least. They aren't even tops in the division. Other than great joke material on SNL for being not so bright, I don't see it. Eh, to each his own.

I do see games several games at The Cell each year. I've attended every "Cross Town Classic" since the games actually began to count in their regular season records. I've been to Wrigley twice in recent years for that series. Otherwise, I never go there.

Btw; I realize it may be hard for some of you to understand, but it doesn't get anymore hard-core when it comes to inner-city rivalries between sports teams and their fans as it does in both Chicago & NY.

I've got a friend that drives me nuts because he bashes on and says he hates the cubs. I just can't grasp why anyone, besides sox fans (or...cubs fans...) would hate the cubs, they never hurt nobody!

It just so happens that his favorite teams are Green Bay, Michigan Wolverines football, the Lakers, and the Yankees. Talk about fair weather...lets just pick like 5 of the most dominant programs and root for them...

well i do understand some of the teams frustration with the cubs, every so often when the cubs get into the playoffs, and of course choke, they typically beat someone elses favorite team and kept them out of the playoffs

a team that may or may not have faired any better.. well chances of said team choking as bad as the cubs typically choke would be pretty slim haha

and i totally get the whole overbearing "my team, my team" bs, ok maybe I don't.. but I've always been able to find good stuff to say about other teams that I wouldn't be caught dead rootin for, except the brewers

and i'll drink beer with a sox fan, just keep me away from brewers or cards fans haven't had a good experience there yet but I'm not sayin it isn't a possibility, we'll just talk about somethin other than baseball, hopefully JEEPS

and talkin about neck to neck rivalry, if im not mistaken cubs vs sox is like 33 to 33 or 32 to 32 somethin along that lines

I like the cubs vs sox rivalry, it's one of those welcome things and if I die before the Cubs win a WS again, just expect a loud thump of my bony toe hitting the lid of the casket

and just cause the teams doin good can't really call them fairweathers, of course we had alot of angel and dodger fairweathers last year mostly because of ESPN's coverage of various idjut players :lol:

Fairweather isn't a term you will hear in Chicago. We generally use "Bandstand", or "Bandstander". Beause we know how many just "love a winner" :roll:

You know TokyoJoe your Coors comment brings up more good points. I question if Incommando is actually from MN? I'm thinking not? Otherwise he would know that the SNL skit on Chicago sports fans is not insulting. What I mean is, it's the lingo often heard by white southsiders and rural northern Illinois for the most part. The same lingo (or accent) heard from Fargo, ND to MN, IA, WI, and IL. But actually in Chicago it's more of a Canadian-Italian dialect. Then the pure canadian version. On a unimportant side note, he failed to include the Broadway winning play Bleacher Bums while insulting fans he obviously knows nothing about.

When it comes to Chicago baseball fans, there really is a hate-fest between Sox & Cub fans in this city-wide area. Like I mentioned before, 'Diehard basbeball' law says you can only be either a Sox fan, or a Cubs fan. You can't be both. Mind you, not all fans are diehard. Or as diehard as they'd like you to think they are.

Boiler, Cubs fans get the most national attention. Yes even more than Yankee fans. The Yankee's themselves receive the attention. Now with that said, Chi Sox, Bos Sox and Yankee fans would argue to the death who is most loyal. Among others.
