Any one know how much the stock bumper weighs? My bumper got damaged and may be able to get a ARB bumper and was wondering if the stock suspension would handle the arb bumper.

stock bumper maybe 15 pounds or so, ARB bumper 100 , stock suspension will never handle it even if it would be brand new.

i have taken my front bumper off a couple times, and it is pretty hefty for just being plastic, 10-15lbs is probably close. its got the outer bumper cover, then the inner black plastic., same as the rear, has the inner black plastic.

I would say Tom is about right on the weight, and there is no way a ARB will sit right on the OEM suspension.

Is your insurance paying for it? If you can get the arb now then go for it. You can always upgrade your suspension later.

I had the ARB on stock suspension for short while. My struts were already shot, felt like you were driving a waterbed even before the ARB was installed. And actually the added weight of the ARB seemed to dampen the waterbed feel instead of increase it as I expected.

If you can just upgrade the front suspension, either that or go for one of the t-17 bumpers Rustys selling them out for 450 right now, not as good as a ARB though

I think the t17 bumper is only for 05+ years of kj. I don't see a listing for 02-04 on their website.

I think it is only for the 05+ but if would still be more weight than the suspension can handle

I installed the ARB before the Frankenlift and drove it that way for at least 6 months before upgrading. Yes, the suspension did sag slightly but it gave me time to save for the Frankie. :D

When upgrading the front bumper and it is heavier, how do you chose which would be a suitable suspension upgrade for the vehicle? I got a daystar puck kit on mine right now and now I will have to upgrade sometime, givin the fact my list of add ons never stops.
