For those of you out there with the Surco Safari rack, can you please post how you mounted it? I have the 45" wide rack so it sits on the side rails just fine but my idea to mount it to the side rails worked but looked bad so now I am looking for any suggestions you may have. My biggest concern is that my idea makes it pretty easy to steal if somone wanted too.

Thanks.

I don't have pics of it (I can get some maybe Tuesday), but I used the Surco Mounting brackets that slide and tighten into the bottom of the rack and it clamps and locks onto the side rails. It makes it sit a little higher, so if you don't like that look or performance, it may not be the way to go. But for me it makes it very easy to remove when I don't need it.

Yep, I took em off cuz they keep scraping when I go into underground garages when I mount my 17" tires (no lift).

If u call Surco, they will also do a custom mount for you too as I had ordered another set for my new GM crossover and the 'recommended' mount did not fit properly so I sent them my measurements and they gave me new mounts: FREE!!

Great service I super strong rack.

I have the 45x50 in rack and I drilled holes through my rails and put a large washer on a nut and put inside the crossrails of the rack and then put the end caps on and bolted it through my roof rails it works great and is really solid
