I need some advice here guys. I have a "clunking" sound when I come to a stop and the body rocks back and then again when I take off that the "loads" again. I can't seem to find the culprit anywhere. I hope this makes sense, as always any advice is appreciated.

Drive shaft slip yoke is very common clunk at start and stop. No big deal at all. Take it apart and grease it up and the clunk will go away for a while. Don't grease the end of the shaft though.

UPDATE: Okay, so I have pulled the drive line and greased the slip yoke and it seemed to help just a little. Last night I pulled the rear upper control arm and replaced the bushings and the ball joint. . . The noise is still there. I checked the U-joints when I had the drive line out an they seem fine. The noise sounds like it is coming from under my seat or feet. It sometimes sounds like it may be coming from the passenger side and sometimes from the driver's side.

What do I check next?

Remove the bottle of booze that is rolling around under the drivers seat?

Or tighten the loose nut behind the wheel?

Is there a way to do that besides just yanking the driveshaft in various directions and looking for play?

I had the same problem. I had a new front diff installed and the tools who did the job forgot to tighten the front bracket.

Yes, grab it and check for excessive forward-rear motion, rotational is normal.

here is a video of a bad front DS

What's the fix if your driveshaft does this?

Install U-Joints  Mine broke and I replaced it with U-Joints and a new shaft. Works great now. If you broke it once, it's going to break again, so either upgrade it (well worth it) or keep replacing it.

I just had mine replaced. When I dive over rocky roads, I hear and feel all kinds of banging. Outside of the loose bracket for my front diff, I can't figure it out.
