Camp Coffs Pics

I got back this evening, after an eight hour drive in torrential rain (oh and let's not forget the Easter Monday traffic returning to Sydney). Should have stayed till Tuesday but had to be back. I have posted a couple of pics here, more to come, from others as well. Nice to meet the Lost families from Qld and put the faces to the the names. Stories to tell there are: like Lost to the rescue of Gi-Frog when his KJ got stuck in 4Lo (linkage problem) and my KJ getting shunted up the bum by an out of control xj on a mud slide. I think Gerard had a Jeep fall on his as well but he can tell us about that. KJs and LOST were well represented. The KJ that travelled the furthest to get to Coffs seems to be Ross from Townsville (who had his little Jack Russell 'Rocco' with him - much to the delight of all the kids).

Pipeliner following too close, or was that Mrs Pipeliner - it was a LOST ladies day. I'm paranoid about people following me now. Those Maxi Tracks seem to have stayed pretty clean all weekend.

XJ about to fill its passenger compartment with mud - he left the passenger side window open and eventually it fell over on that side. His missus made him sit there the rest of the day.

getting snatched out of the mud bog. Leeches galore in that stuff. Funny but you can't really tell how muddy it is from this photo.

Wow, that does look 'Damp"... Hope there was no bad damage with the shunt Glen.

The camp site was a bit crowded - Nobster arrived first and found us a spot on some hardstand for which we were very grateful as the grassed areas rapidly became swamps as the weekend progressed.

There was a real father/son moment when Jeremy Bowen got stuck on a slope in the quarry and Michael snatched him out!

The LOST crew (well, some of us) did our own scenic drive on Saturday up to Dorrigo where the views were great.

And of course the Easter (sorry, Jeepster) Bunny came round on Sunday to deliver eggs to the kids.

And the annual Jeep line-up - check JAA for the shots from the top of the cliff and the helicopter, as the shot from the ground can't begin to show all 163 Jeeps that attended. Note the quantity of water by the boundary logs - the grass was just as bad!

Hi all, got back to Blackwater safe and sound 1am Wed morning after stopping over for the night in Brissy ( had enough driving in the bloody rain by then). Then got stuck in the shops and left Brissy about 2pm. Good thing DFO was accross the road from the motel we stayed in, but it doesen't open till 10am so we had to check out Toombul first.

Sorry mate, no contest. Imelda doesn't get to the big city shops often enough! It took them about 10 hours to get from Nerang to Coffs via Robina Shopping Centre!

mate that is not a flat track we actually had to have people push off the front of the KJ to stop it sliding when we put the 2a back on its wheels

No sorry CD, things were moving pretty quickly. The trip leader had to drive down and snatch him out of there. When it (XJ) got back up the slope you couldn't even see into the vehicle on the left side due to the mud on all the windows. I looked in from the drivers side and there was mud everywhere inside.
