Help! I can't get the upper ball joint nuts to go back on! I get them threaded on about 3 turns and they won't budge, either nut on either side, same problem. What am I missing?

Stock or Al's?

If Al's are you referring to the ball joint inside it or the whole assembly?

Did you take the weight off the lower control arm/ball joint by jacking it up or propping it up so it is not pulling down on the threads while you are trying to tighten the nut on the upper ball joint stud? The upper ball joint stud should be free to slide all the way through the riser of the lower control arm-- so that the control arms sit fairly flush together with plenty of stud threads exposed to thread the nut back onto.

done with Tom's help. You definitely need to pry that upper arm down into the knuckle and keep some good tension on it to allow you to tighten the nut.

THANKS TOM! I OWE YOU A COLD ONE! :)

BTW, if the wife likes this when I am done we may do her 02 as well. possibly just light or medium OME's just to get her original height back and maybe a bit more.

Best service I get in stateside Korean restaurants is to order Soju.
Usual response is "how you know Soju?" and then I get showered with "extra" dishes.
I have to say, this site is such a valuable resource... since owning one of these "odd" Jeeps (KJs) leaves one out in the cold on most Jeep sites.
