Yes the Craftsman rachets are junk, my 3/8 drive has only lasted since 1979, finally starting to slip some though  first 3/8 only lasted from 71 to 79

ThunderbirdJunkie has broken a 3/8 ratchet of every brand.

Husky, Craftsman, Snap-On, Mac, Matco, Cornwell, you name it, he's broken it.

ThunderbirdJunkie may just be hard on tools. Oh well.

Im a big fan of Craftsman, excellent warranty and made in the USA!

i got a 200+ piece set for Christmas a few years back....my only complaint so far was that there were several pieces that were not marked as to what size they were. took them back and exchanged, no questions asked.

i'm starting to amass a collection of Kobalt tools, so far they are holding up well.

Anyone ever hear of Wright tools?
I have a set of 1/2 inch drive sockets and a rachet that I traded a used tire for back in the 80s, have beat the crap out of them and they are still holding up. Owned a tire shop, didn't have anything in the tire and the guy needed something to run on, also got a cowboy type hat as well in the deal!
They used them in the underground coal mines a lot in Southeast Ohio ( somehow this set .... ah escaped  )
