I wonder if I can use or tap into the pre installed wire harness for the Renegade light bar to use for my roof rack lights? I can just clip off the attachment piece right, and its all ready wired in to the Jeep.. Whatcha think?

that would be cool, if it works does that mean you will have the light on the dash that indicates overhead lights are on?

do you have the wire going up there? I thought most did not have that wiring installed unless you have the renegade light bar

yes the wiring is in place in the A post area behind the O crud handle. So I was wondering if it could be used.

Does anyone know what years/models (sport/rene/limited) that this wiring came in? Also does it illuminate the light on the dash?

I know it will illuminate if you attach the renegade light bar, as far as the years I have no idea, although I thought they all it it.

For the most part, if your KJ did not come with the light bar, the harness was not installed.

If you currantly have the light bar, then yes you can tap into that lead wire, BUT, you may not get power to the other lights unless you use the switch to turn on the light bar.

(You might draw extra power to that relay and could either BURN IT OUT or it will it will dim one set of lights. )

It is just as easy to run a new lead wire up the the other lights you want. If you are going to tap into the lightbar harness, you are half way there with everything open. you should just run a new line and keep it on it's own circut.
