By the time I hit I was down to 40. I was going 45. One of the things that happened was I climbed up on the bumper of the BMW. The back and down way the bottom of the bumper is designed made me go up higher than I already was. If you look at his back bumper you can see that I mostly went over it. Where the front trailer hitch goes I have a plastic Viet Nam Veteran cover in it with green letters. It sets pretty low. There is a perfect imprint of it on his bumper. Left of center.

There was some questions regarding the tabs on my bumper not being strong enough. They are still rock solid and punched some nasty indents into the BMW. They did better than the winch hook did. It got banged up a little.

not possible I know, but darn I hate stupid drivers!!!

If your talking about that jerk trying to do a U turn, well nobody knows who he is. He took off about 1 second after impact. I got cited for the accident but his stupidity caused it.

Glad you are OK, bad that you got cited but at least you can still drive it, without a BIG bumper maybe it would of been towed as well!

Terry, are you going to replace the bumper with a Rockstar or going with an ARB? I hear the ARB club is a neat group of guys.

Glad you're OK. It sux about the bumper; I know what you went through to get it. I am going to keep silent about its replacement.

Glad no one was hurt. I'd say bend back the bumper put some tabs on the back for support and pocket the bumper money. But if you're selling it. A few modifications and I can make it fit my 2002.

Chances are I will GO OVER TO THE DARK SIDE, better known as ARB. If I could just order another Rock Star and get it in a reasonable amount of time I would do it. I like it better than the ARB. I think my bumper could be fixed but I don't know anything about such things so what do I know.

I'm glad to hear that you're okay Terry. What a pantload that you get cited for that wreck!

My buddy has just started selling/installing digital recorders in vehicles. He has the demo in his Suburban and MAN it's cool! Flip down the screen and you can see front, left, right, and rear. Zoom in on any camera, use it as a back-up aid, whatever. It records all activity to an onboard harddrive, so everything that happens around you is recorded. If someone in your three-car pile had that, the U-turn jerk might have been caught on it.

I've offered my Jeep up as the second demo vehicle for his system. It'd be cool for off-road trips too. 8)

Think about the TJM as a replacement too. It's a bit cheaper than the ARB.

Couple days ago I there was a Japanese vehicle kid 2 cars in front of me that did an emergency stop so he could stop for some high school girls at a crosswalk. I swerved and stopped parallel to the little Hyundai behind him but I was on the sidewalk. Had I not swerved it probably would have pushed the Hyundai through the Civic.

The fine was only $150.00. If I take a 1 day safety class I won't get any points on my license. I think the class is $100.00.
