I would bet that the light will go out on its own after you change the plugs and put some miles on the Jeep.

Plugs changed today, seems to run better, but engine light is still on. went to another mechanic, he hooked up the computer to clear the code, but he said it wouldn't communicate with the Jeep. He said maybe I have an exhaust leak that is keeping it on, and said to come back another day and they would check my fuses??? what is this??? went to another mechanic, as they are extrememly busy around here, he said to come back and they should be able to clear it. I may, however have a small exhaust leak, but this only started with the engine light since the Seafoam, when it was idling rough (misfiring) after the smoke show. What do you guys think?? Some old-schoolers say to unhook the battery to clear the computer, is this possible or just myth??

That's no myth. Unhook the ground side of the battery, let the electrical system discharge (5-15?) minutes, reconnect, CEL will disappear.

i beleive if you unhook the computer for a bit, it will reset the codes, but if whatever caused it spits another code its going to come right back on.

How do you unhook the computer?

Also, with Seafoam, I put half the can into the intake, then changed my plugs out. Can I now put the other half in the gas tank, without affecting the new plugs?? I think this is OK, right?

Thanks

You put a full can into a full tank of gas. This will not affect the spark plugs, it will clean fuel injectors, throttle body, etc...

some people say that taking the negative ground off the battery to reset the computer can cause other problems..... is this true, or just myth. I did a code read by turning the key on/off, etc. and it is P0303, a third cylinder misfire, which would have been what happened when I ran the seafoam through, it started up roughly, probably from gunk on a plug. now all I want to do is reset the engine light, as the plugs are changed. will unhooking the negative cable for 15 mins really hurt the Jeep in any way, like some say????
