Ok KJ Gurus, I am trying to figure out how to run all the wires from my lights and my antenna to inside the cab. Do I need to drill separate holes to run the lighting wires and the antenna coax? Or can it go thru the same hole. Where the lights and antenna go on my sports rack is practically dead center on top of the roof. Or do you guys have alternate route I could/should run them and avoid drilling a hole or two in my roof and the wire wont get kinked?

Keep the coax cable as far away from any power wires.

I ran mine through the back glass, took some finesse to stop it from leaking but it hasn't leaked since

on the other hand

i have that fugly rubbermaid crap on my roof that hides the coax run

When i finally strip the rubbermaid, i'm probably going to be unhappy with the coax running across my roof

i will be payin attention to how you decide to go about yours

i do know several of us have ran the coax through the existing hole in the renny roof lights under the light bar cover, i dont know how much interference they're experiencing but that's runnin right next to some fairly potent wires :?

the way mine is set up now when the engines running it's getting some voltage racket, it doesn't seem to be the same racket as the fuel pump interference that I was getting the weekend I had the antenna on the back gate though so I'm going to try a noise filter on the power leads. Pretty sure I got one from a old car equalizer in the attic

yea im gonna hafta figure out what im gonna do. I don't have a rene light bar so that's not an option. so as it it sits at the moment it looks like I will be drilling 2 small holes on the opposite sides of the roof so the wires are not hear each other. I was thinking about trying to go between all the rubber stuff in the door jams but did not really see a viable option there either to keep em from getting cinched etc.

I guess if I had to do it, I would remove the bar and drill though it's base then though the roof, put the bar back on, drill through the side piece that covers the rail bolts then fish my wires though. You don't have to worry so much about separating the power wire and the coax since all metal surfaces of the vehicle are part of the negative return for the whole electrical system. There's really nowhere to run a cable that will not be near a power wire, there is just as much current coursing through the chassis as there is in any and all wires in the vehicle.

Good Luck
