Well, I went muddin today and when i was driving later on after my vehicle dried out, I noticed a couple different things. When I drive over subtle bumps, it seems to make a soft clacking noise, sounds like strut I would assume. While driving, it seems to come from the passenger side but when I shook the vehcle, the driver side squeeks, also sounds like strut. So, I am trying to diagnose by myself so far, it is hard to pin point the sounds. I just know that it's annoying. Has anyone else had similar issues? ALso, it maybe in my head, with the heightened sense of awareness I seem to have after four wheelin, but the clutch seems to feel a little sticky when pressing down by the release point. Problems came up after muddin today only, not deep mud, nothing too rough.

:?

Wash KJ,leaving built up mud under your vehicle will damage CV boots, bushings, and seals.Clean the undercarriage very well and see if the noise returns.

Also, I rolled around under the vehicle and nothing is loose, no wetness around struts(I have never busted a strut before, but told to look for wetness if so). I did a once over on suspension parts also. The clutch is squeeky when being pressed in, is there a way to lube this? Other than this, the vehicle seems fine.
You got mud and other junk in places you can't see causing noises, bet your bellhousing is full of mud and small rocks.

So its safe just to spray everything down, including transmission, sensors/harness, axles, brakes, etc... Should you try to avoid anything.

I will spray it off promptly... 8) I usually give it a good bath, well, I wash it often, we will just say that. It's just that I haven't heard these sounds and asked to see if there is something to be lookin for if it persists. Thanks, I should have waited till I washed it, I had that in mind..

the mud might have to go by the wayside... might. I just cant believe that all the sounds problems almost immediatly after. I cant afford any rebuilds, better off stayin on dry land. my jeep looked alot better after an hour in the mud... Better than 5 grand worth of upgrades could do for it.

I spend over $20 alone just on my undercarriage every sunday, well worth it to catch stuff before they break.

i learned real quick cleanin' Army HMMWV's to avoid mud where possible. After you spend 3+ hours on a cleaning rack in your rain gear, and your still finding stuff, you learn real quick.

Gotta' admit tho, it is fun to play in!

Know what you mean, back in '99 myself and my buddy had to spend 26 hours straight washing a LVS Wrecker after I got it stuck in 60" of mud(long story) and pulled a 4' diameter tree out of the ground trying to self extract with the on-board 60ton winch.Ended up taking three M88's pulling in tandem to free the 60,000lbs,8 wheel drive beast.Sad part was it wasn't even my company's truck,I just replaced the engine and took it for a "test drive".

Hehehe, sounds like fun except the 26hrs part.

Feel your pain tho. Never stuck a big rig even tho drove 'em for the Army awhile (818's, M52, HMMET, etc.). Did get a 5 ton stuck once even w/the CTIS engaged properly. Got some tankers to pull it out (gotta' love track veh's.).

Never broke a tree either! Unless you count blowin 'em up.

Where I am in Canada we have tons of clay content, it's like trying to clean bubble gum off your undercarriage.

x2. It takes 8 min per tire to get all the mud off the tire, well, and suspension parts. I'm sure i could still find mud somewhere. One thing i have going for me is Wacky Wednesday at the car wash. 20 min for $6. The only place i am concerned about washing is in the engine bay - electronics and computer stuff.
Mud is a way of life here. You can't avoid it if you go out at all.
