Did you already knock the UBJ loose with a hammer , if so then stick a long bar back into the spring and pry down on the UCA that will seat the ball joint back in and you can loosen it

We tried the pry bar into the spring and no change. Ball joint is still spinning.

You can also wrap a ratchet strap around top a arm to bottom aarm and pull them tight. This keeps bolt seated and gives ya both hands to work with.

Or put a wrench on it!? If I remember right there is a a spot on the end of the Ball Joint Shaft for a 10mm Wrench. Then work the ball joint nut back and forth through some penetrating fluid.

Still nothing. We tried the straps and pry bar. All it does is spin

sounds like it is time to either cut off the nut or I think you can use a 10mm or 8mm 1/4 socket and a wrench if the stud is like that

Not even ThunderbirdJunkie's swivel 21 with his compact 3/8 drive impact will fit on that nut. It has to be done by hand.

Ditto his air ratchet.

Are you changing out the arm? If so, just pry the arm away from the knuckle, and grab the conical seat of the balljoint stud with a pair of channel locks, and then wrench away to your heart's content.

Otherwise, grab a 10mm 1/4" drive socket, shallow, and a 1/4" drive socket, hold the nut still wtih a 21mm box end wrench, and set that ratchet to tighten. That will move that sucker innere for ya!

Yeah we decided to give up. I'm gonna order new upper a arms tomorrow. We started with the rear, so now I will have a half lifted jeep for a week. I'll post a pic of the progress when I get on my computer. We heated it up and got it loose enough to tighten it back up, but not enough to get it off. Oh well, just an excuse to upgrade more parts :-)

did you try what Red said? That's what the end of the ball joint is for.
Found that out last week

Yeah I tried that too with no luck. I'm pretty sure the threads are messed up because it will loosen to a point and then spin. I just decided to buy new a arms.
