My 2003 KJ is stock and has about 70,000 miles on it. I figure the struts and shocks will probably need replacing soon. I was thinking about picking up some low mileage take-offs from a 2006. I'm talking about the front strut assemblies with coils, rear shocks and springs.

Thanks!
Doc

They are the same but why put stock back on, springs and shocks start to go at 25,000/30,000 miles so unless you get one with zero miles kind of pointless in my book, all that work to go right back to the same thing :?

Thanks Tom.

The KJ is my reliable economical transportation. The struts, springs, and shocks have been fine in my '03 for 6 years and 70,000 miles. The take offs from the 2006 have almost no mileage on them. So I figure they'll get me to the 120,000 mile mark without a problem.

I have a 2008 JK Rubicon. No IFS headaches, much better lift kits, 35" tires with a spacer lift, 37" tires with a coil lift. So that's where my modding money goes.

OK but stock suspension is pretty bad on any vehicle, if I am doing it I like to upgrade not stay with crappy stock stuff, but then thats just me.

So go for it

You can get aftermarket shocks/springs that won't give you any/very little lift. Probably a lot better than the stock.

Front:
Coil Springs: OME 925 Light Duty, probably 1/2-1" lift
Shocks: Rancho RSX17505

Rear:
Coil Springs: stock coils and an extra upper isolator pad to even out with the front.
Shocks: Several choices to pick from. Ranchos are good.

www.jeepinbyal.com has everything you need.
