I installed Samco hoses today, took me 30 minutes for both and it is working like a champ.
Question:

I can feel a "flat" flap (not about to move it) inside the intake when the CVC from Inter-cooler to intake is removed.

Is this the infamous EGR valve?
If it is, is it normal for it laying "flat" when the ebginer is off?

I had the CEL due to EGR problem about two monthes ago. I did ORM fro about two weeks, liked it.
I then installed SEGR + Inmotion remapping about a month ago.

I have not felt around the intake - so I'm not certain

but I'd guess this is the Flow Control Valve

i.e. in order to allow low pressure exhaust gases to flow into a higher pressure intake -
the EGR system chokes down the intake air flow - which artificially creates a low pressure and pulls the exhaust gases into the intake.

The SEGR - will almost turn this off - it keeps it closed except during engine shutdown - where choking the intake will allow a smooth turn off and prevent an engine runaway (rare but real possibility on VW TDI's)
