I ran across the Koala Rack and looks like a pretty good product. I am not sure about the extra weight though.

I know some have complained about sagging and cracking on or around the rear door because of the extra weight that an oversize spare adds. Two full jerry cans and a cooler full of cold ones would be quite a bit to add so I would be a bit concerned.

But, I don't know if anyone ever said for sure that the issues with the back door were from the weight of the tire on the door. I am interested in options for a couple of jerry cans on the back so if you go this route let everyone know how it works out.

I like it a lot. Unfortunately, I have my plate holder going right down the center of my spare.

Interesting idea. I don't think I'd pay what they're asking for it, though. For that kind of cash, I'd want something that mounts onto the lugs the way the bike racks do. Ratchet strap seems kind of a cheesy way to do it.

Ha! Ha! I never thought of that. My plate in the center of the spare too. Back to the drawing board.

They have racks that mount to the receiver hitch, but that kills your departure angle!!

I think it would be fine for a weekend trip with beer... er i mean sodas loaded in it, and mabe 1 or 2 jerry (better one or none) cans but i wouldn't keep that weight on it all the time or u may get sagging.
