I have installed them on other vehicles (ex-girlfriend's Civic). The install is simple and straight forward and requires no special tools. Keep the fasteners in a plastic bag as they are all very small. Take notes on where your needles point before taking it apart to keep your gauges calibrated. Afterwards-perform the "gauge/idiot light test" which involves holding the Trip Odometer button in while turning the ignition on (don't start the vehicle). It may take a couple tries but it looks cool and will insure that everything works after the install before hitting the road.

http://www.procarparts.com has the gauge faces dirt cheap for the liberty and I would look there instead of ebay.

I have put them in many cars...

My 98 ford ranger, looked awsome at night and very good in the daytime. dimmer worked very well and was bright. never had a problem and it lasted 2 years, sold the truck so i dont know if they still are.

My brothers ranger same kit... dimmer lasted about 5 months and burned out... but thats why the kit is only like $20 to your door. just got another kit and used the dimmer.

04 sunfire.. same thing but the dimmer lasted about a week, and accually poped! kinda cool, and they sent him another one in a week.

many others, i have not heard back from the owners so i could not tell ya.

cheap kit, crap shoot on quality... looks very good, but the higher end Nu-Image ones are the best, very high quality stuff.

Has anyone noticed that there is no spot for the lightbar indicator on the gauge face? I guess its for Sport/Limited models only?

i got mine off ebay and usually the customers do to. I am 99% sure that they are ALL the same exact pieces. They are cheap so if they dont work as expected it is not a giant loss. and you can install and wire them in less than an hour... the biggest pain is getin the cluster out! not that bad but thats the only hard part... and i think these you wont need to pull the needle, you can slide it down the needle and onto the original gauge faces. thats it

As far as I know the lightbar isn't actually standard on any model of KJ. (Maybe in older model years it was standard on the renegade, but I had to add it at the dealership on my '05 renegade about a month after we got it). There's no real reason for there to be a lightbar indicator, and the little LED they install works just fine.

The lightbar was standard from 02 to 04. If you DIDN'T want it you had the option of a lightbar delete on the order form. I think that starting in 2005 there was 2 different option packages for the Renegade ( X and D) One had it and the other didn't.
