Get as much speed going as possible and also try to stay on one side or the other of the pit. You will get more traction if you ride one of the walls instead of sinking in the middle. :D

OK, so I can't grab a set of MT's before the 16th, no way in hell my wife is going for that when we need to be buying baby/mother stuff (and a RL rear bumper doesn't qualify either, I tried!) Besides my next set of shoes will be 265/75/R16's and I'll be regearing to 4:10, so that's a while off.

The plan thus far is;

I) take all my gear out of the back in order to reduce weight as much as possible.

II) air down the front to 24psi and rear to 18psi on my 1/2 bald BFG AT's

III) leave the ABS fuse in

IV) 4WD low

V) Start in 2nd, gun it, stick to 3rd/4th keep the RPM's in the 4000-5000 range

VI) Likely move about 12' before I'm no longer moving forward and have to be pulled out

Sound about right?

Some friends of mine will be there so I'm sure I'll have some pics and video of my pathetic performance for you all to enjoy and laugh at.

I would Keep shifting to a minimum because you'll lose momentum.

true.. dont shift at all when you hit the pit. make sure you have the gear (i'd say 3rd prob.) loaded before you enter... soon as you push in the clutch no power goes to the wheels and your done for. gotta keep'em spinning :)

Well, just got back from washing the under carriage.

I'll throw up a few pics from my wife's camera, and should have video some time tomorrow.

Thanks again for all the replies and advice.

About as good as I expected, only 22', which suprisingly enough wound up being 5th in the 31" and under class of 10. I actually took my foot off the gas early not realizing that I was still moving (barely), not that it would have made a difference of more than 1/4" anyway.

None of the vehicles in my class made it through, a Suzuki and a Tracker both with about 6" of lift and wide mud tires did the best by far. Everything else pretty much ended up right around me +/- a foot or two. The jeep after my run made it 2' farther than I because of the spot my bumper plowed out, and then since he didn't have recovery on the rear they pulled him out forwards, which then created a nice track for the following vehicles.

It was fun just the same, next year I'll add at least a foot to the run, still do miserably overall, but it will be an improvement

Here's the video, I'll do one of the entire 31" class tomorrow if I have time.

Very nice vid. Maybe next year you could try taking your skid plates off and get a little extra ground clearance. It might make your extra foot.
