June Long Weekend

Hi everyone, Suz and I are intending on going camping somewhere around Rainbow again on the
Long Weekend if anyone is interested. We are taking a couple of work friend's to explore the area.
The weather should have cleared out by then, let me know if anyone want's to go

J.a.G has agreed to go to the "Springs". 4wd & Camp grounds (Between Warwick & Stanthorpe)that week-end with a KK, XJ & another 4wd?? That is assuming I have the Transfer case problems sorted by then :roll:

Our plan is to get to Rainbow on the Saturday the 6th and leave on Monday the 8th (2 weekend's time). Not sure as to
where we will camp this time but I am thinking of freshwater again as long as we can have a fire on the beach (think we will
need one) If not we might camp at inskip. I am going to book camp site's in the next couple of day's so let me know if anyone is keen (still not sure if I will even get one but I am going camping no matter what)

Jas.... You guys still going to be around Rainbow this weekend, Cath and I are still up in the air as to if we are going to go away this weekend, rain... or maybe painting the house again, just unsure.. But I'd really like to go fishing!!!!!

we are still going Chris, we are taking both the Jeeps this time, one of Suz's friends will drive it
down late Saturday. Hopefully the weather will be be good, it was pooring rain yesterday arvo
and still looks a bit rubbish now but I am going no matter what (cyclones pending of course)
Fishing rod's will also be attached for sure, new line on Suz's after last trip though. We are
staying at Freshwater again, there was still plenty of space's left, it will be nice and relaxing
I can orginise a site for you and Cath if you need me to

Just returned from my long weekend at the SJC property near Bylong NSW (adjacent to the Wollemi Park). It was cold overnight and we had some mist and rain but the sun changes everything. Here are a couple of pics of the area, which the owner is developing into a 4WD park with SJCs help.

I'm sorry Jason, had a bit of Family related issue happen that I had to attend to last week, and it will continue for some time.. :cry:

Cant really say much more about it, just trying to deal with fallout of it.

hi everyone, pretty uneventful weekend of camping really but it was what I needed, good relaxing time.
Out numbered indeed, 4 to 1. My biggest problem was 3 of them got car sick just from the freshwater track
so exploring new area's was out and I some how managed to get cooking duties all weekend too. Oh well,
the camp ground was nice and not crowded at all (not many people at all) but I didn't even get to wet a line.
Don't think I will stay there over a long weekend again though, traffic was not so much bad (no worse than
the weekend when we had the trip there) but the speed that some were travelling and how far up your butt
they drove. Anyway the drive down the beach on Monday was perfect, low tide smooth, sun was shining, waves
crashing and it is great to hear as you wake up of a morning too. Ok here's some photo's of camp.

on Sunday we headed into Rainbow for the day and checked out the Carlow Sand Blow
looking towards Fraser

and our new LOST stickers (unfortunately the only mod I have been able to do lately)

mines a bit hard too see but it's there

looks you a good weekend was had by the JAG's and Glend, Greg is that the first time you
have done that, I have a vague memory of a picture of a busted front guard on here somewhere
else, it could have been someone else though. Now's a good time to consider flat fenders

no worries Cmohr, we will catch up later on I hope, maybe a shake down run for the Belafonte
before the Great Desert Trip, that give's me an idea :idea:

Really disappointed Cath and I didn't get to go...

My Dad had a car accident last week, and without going into details, I was pretty tied up with running Mum around, (I ended up taking Wed to Fri off), to and from the Hospital, and talking with Police , Insurance and Doctors.. He's OK everyone, just a little confused at the moment he's 85, got a bit of Dementure going on, as well as suffering Post Traumatic stress syndrome from WWII as well as general health issues a 85 yr old has when he's smoked and drank heavily all his life, Mums still upset and needing support, as anyone would, and we are getting there..Lifes funny isn't it.. :wink:

Your parents take care of you, and then, YOU DO end up taking care of them( I always thought that bit was just from the movies) Anyway, Lets see what tomorrow brings.

Very interested in another outting soon.... Soon as The Belafonte isactually fixed.

Nice spotting there Cmohr, we got it before Coff's and our holiday, with the wet down there, the old dome fly starting to
perish (7 years old, had a good life) it just made sense to update. Hummed and Haaed over camper trailer's then just
went out and bought it. It all nearly came to tears on the practice set up and packing up, easy to put up but trying to
get it back in the bag nearly sent me into melt down. When all else fails (including the lack of good instructions) I looked on
the Blackwolf web site and they had a video of putting up and packing down and now wouldn't be with out it. Just need to
build a trailer to put all my gear in now. Oh and as I couldn't fit it and all the other gear in the car for our holiday I got to
buy a roof basket, but I found it was to short and had to buy the extension. Then it was decided after the return from
holiday it was to long and not stable enough. So I did what any self respecting person with a Mig welder would and took to
my new 350 dollar rack with grinder and welded it all back together. My only new mod apart from stickers lately
