how much trans fluid (if any) do they replace, and exactally what work is done...
I asked the service advisor about fluid (i was thinking it would extend the time i need my trans flush/refill at) and his words were "they probibally replace about a quart... but then again i havent seen it done and we havent done too many, so i really dont know, i just write them up.. but i bet the mechanic knows."
All I know is that it is something with a plug and shifting in/out of park, and it could roll away.

The TSB calls for 1 gallon from a sealed container, had mine done about 2 weeks ago. They have to drop the pan and remove the valve body.

^wow, do they really? Thats a pretty big job, ususally if you drop the pan, its 4-5 quarts.

The recall is a safety recall for Lib's with the 3.7 and the 42RLE transmission, something about a mfg problem that could cause Lib to roll back when in park

The recall involves replacement of the pin that holds the transmission in park. This requires as mentioned above dropping the pan and removing the valve body. But I believe they only replace the fluid in the pan, the stuff thats in the torque converter stays in the torque converter.

Should this pin let go, your tranny basically will now have two neutral gears...lol....and if you don't have your parking brake on, better hope you're not parked near anybody....or on a San Fransisco hill or something.

Does this recall affect ALL 2005 Gas Liberties? When I look up my VIN to see if I need the recall, it say's I don't have any outstanding recalls. Can someone post the TSB number, and build date info?

had mine in for the recall and they told me they put a gasket around the transmission dipstick/filler because of water intrusion.
