Alright guys, so i was driving down my road yesterday, and i hit loose sand or something with my pasenger side and it pulled me into a tree and i side swiped it, Breaking my windsheild, shattering all 3 passenger side windows and as you can guesss both passenger doors, also it broke my lightbar lights and fender flares off. Is my KJ totalled now since its a uniobody or what? the engine and trans seem to be fine as well as the wheels but idk what we are going to do. I really hope its not totalled any info would be helpful on if it is totalled or estimated repairs or anything. Thanks guys

Without seeing it or at least seeing pictures no way to tell, kind of like calling a Doctor up and asking him if you have kidney stones

Post some pictures of the carnage. Then we can give some opinions.

dont know what year or how many miles.. look up it's value on NADA.com (that's ones of the sources insurances company's have to use) if the repairs are 3/4 of the worth of the jeep it will be totaled. by the sounds of it you'll need fender work, both doors, glasses, windshiled, pillar, flares, rocker, quarter, and roof work.. i'd guess the poor girl's going to be totaled :(.. sucks but in the big picture it doesnt matter. you're alright which is the main thing.

Totalled = value to repair vs value of vehicle.
Mileage and age come into the picture for vehicle value (unfortunately, they do not factor in how much you care about your vehicle).
It doesn't take long to go over $5,000 in damage... against the repair costs, the insurance company will weigh some factor about the potential value (in bluebook terms) of your Jeep.
A really good option sometimes is to buy your totalled vehicle back ($50.00 or so) and then you can use that to rebuild or whatever.
Pictures would be helpful for us to guess, but it's still just a guess.
Sucks about the sand. I hit a sand patch with my TJ when it was brand new, but instead of hitting a tree, my slide was cushioned by a Toyota Corolla, which got pretty creamed.
Since you can't change it, good luck figuring out how to deal with it and the insurance folks.

KBB SEZ

EXCELLENT-$7100
GOOD-$6500
FAIR-6100

Yours seems to be well cared for, so private party value would be Good ThunderbirdJunkie assumes.

Basically...it's worth a whole lot more than ThunderbirdJunkie's

It has too be totaled.

They said ours was totaled when it got rear ended, and all it really needed was a rear gate and glass, tire carrier, and bumper cover. No heavy damage at all.

I talked some sense into them and got them to repair it instead of totaling it out, they hard a lot of expensive crap on the estimate that was needed. Yours sounds like its going to be a lot worse off then ours though. If you decide to fix it there are a lot of good body parts on dallas.craigslist.org you could use. I know there is a set of doors.

Good thing, is KJ's are cheap as dirt so you can pick one with exactly the options you want if you were missing anything =)

Coming home from California this morning I was driving my friends new Ford Focus and went over some loose gravel on the highway and it was just enough to make the car lose control and fly across the lanes and hit an asphalt rail and some other objects in the process. There was little damage for the accident, but three of the airbags went off thus the car is totaled. It is more expensive for them to fix that then give you a check.

I am really sorry to hear about your accident. Truly something nobody should ever go through

By the sounds of it, you are ok!
That is the most important thing!
Your Jeep Liberty is replaceable.

If they write your KJ off, use the Insurance settlement money and buy another one just like the one you have, or up-grade to a newer model year.

Well zzack92 I'm glad that nobody was hurt in your accident, but it reall sucks that your ride is damaged  . If they do write it off do you suppose there's a chance that you can buy the vehicle for parts or retrieve your accessories you've added?

So were still not sure what our plan is, talking to insurance now. However, if i get it fixed there re-painting it and im not sure if i would want to change the color or not. I do like them black KJ's 8) 8) . Any thoughts on this?? pics below ill try to upload more later
