Well I am now the proud owner of a 87 thundercraft boat. The boat was a steal for the price I got it for and worth every penny so far. However I was at the lake a little late and with backing the trailer down the ramp is quite a pain with stock reverse lamps. There just isn't enough light So I went to walmart and got a nice cheap pair of 55 watt driving lights to mount to the back of my basket. I think I may install third light in the middle but have it be a fog lense instead of the spot light. Currently decideing on where to place my switch. Also as you can see I ran 2 wires through the back trim and then into the window they are just small wires do I pose a risk of leaking or should I just not worry about that. I can not drill a hole in my roof yet but that time may come.

Here is a pic of the boat in tow.

Here is a side angle of the new lights.

I do not have any night pics but I really think that this should help as I have the lights angled to hit just beside each wheel on the boat trailer and it really lets me see the trailer and what is all around me. I will find out this weekend and if I remeber I will post some more pics.

Hey congrats on the new boat. You will one day come to realize that the two best days of boat ownership are the day you buy the boat, and the sell you sell the boat.

I think that goes with the definition of a boat as 'a hole in the water in which you pour lots of money'

although they are fun.

What kinda engine and out drive does that thing have? Ive really been getting into boats here lately. Weve got a boat with dual 305 Volvo Pentas with Duo-Prop out drives. Been spending most of my time getting those engines in shape.

are those the $24 Baja Lights?

I have a pair on my front. I hate them. compared to my HID's they don't do a thing. I bought 3 pair of Summit racing 100watt off road lights. 4 for my basket, two for my front bumper.

love the boat too =D

They are and your right they suck. I thought they were flood lights but they are spot lights. I changed them out for some round tractor lights and then I am going to add the baja lights in the middle and just use them for add. light.
